The Love Affair gets opening day gross of P15 million in the box-office

According to Star Cinema, The Love Affair starring Bea Alonzo, Richard Gomez and Dawn Zulueta has grossed P15 million on its opening day.

The Love Affair is off to a strong start as it earned P15 million in the box-office on opening day.

This was announced by Star Cinema Ad Prom manager Mico del Rosario via Instagram last night, August 12.

The romance drama featuring Bea Alonzo and the CharDawn tandem (Richard Gomez and Dawn Zulueta) was first shown in cinemas nationwide on Wednesday, August 12.

In this film directed by Nuel Naval, Dawn and Richard play a couple who have been married for 24 years.

Their marriage is put to the test when Dawn's character is caught fooling around with her husband's best friend.

Meanwhile, Bea is cast as a lawyer who falls in love with Richard while he is still mending his broken heart.

This project marks a reunion project for former lovers Richard and Dawn who were in a relationship during the 1990s.

In a 2012 interview, Richard admitted that his immaturity in the past caused their breakup.

"Alam n'yo, noong medyo bata-bata pa kami ni Dawn, pati ang isip ko ay medyo may pagkabata pa.

"Hindi pa ako masyadong seryoso sa buhay."

Dawn is now married to politician Anton Lagdameo Jr. while Richard settled down with actress Lucy Torres.

In the bloggers' conference for The Love Affair, it was Bea who asked Dawn: Has she forgiven Richard?

The actor looked at his ex-girlfriend and said, "I'm sure."

However, Dawn revealed, "He hasn't asked for forgiveness."

Bea exclaimed "Oh my God!" while Dawn burst out laughing.

Richard looked baffled and said out loud, "I don't even remember that!"
