Prior to the press conference of Silong at guestings niya sa ABS-CBN, madalas na pala magpunta noon si Rhian Ramos sa ABS-CBN compound.
“I used to go to high school here,” kuwento ng GMA-7 actress. “They had the Distance Learning Center [DLC]. So, for the last two years of my high school when I started working na, I need to home school so I would go here for exams. But that was it. But that’s in the building where they do MYX.”
Kamusta ang pakiramdam na tumuntong ulit siya sa ABS-CBN now that she’s a star of the Kapuso Network?
“It was nice to come in this time na pinapasok ako ng guards na without a problem. Kasi when I was a student ibang story ‘yan. Hahaha!
“Masaya naman ako. It’s, I mean, everyone so far with Star Cinema, kasi I’ve been doing the mall show also with them, hindi naman nila ako trina-trato na others.
“So, I feel happy naman to be here and I feel good and everyone is very nice to me. Even the security here is super nice.”
May mga natutunan ba siya kay Piolo pagdating sa pagiging artista?
“Ah, paano ba? Well, he’s so intense and his focus pretty much never breaks.
“With me kasi is a little different. Before I do a scene, I’m really, really in my head. I get nervous about doing the scene especially when it’s important to me.
“When I feel like, when I feel like I’m gonna have a hard time, maybe. Uh, I got very nervous beforehand and I don’t see that happened with him.
“The second you hear ‘Action,’ he doesn’t really take much time to warm up into the scene. He is intense right away, uh, which I don’t have also.� It takes me a while to warm up into what is happening in the scene. Parang I wait for the scene to tell the story.�
“With him at first, it’s kinda disarming actually because I felt like, ‘Naah, this guy is so good and so focus, he’s gonna eat me alive.’ Hahaha!
“This movie is going to end my career. Hahaha!
“But, afterwards it’s because he was so convincing to me and later on became easy. When I forgot about all the back, the back part where you know you think of what you’re gonna look like in the movie, any kind of comparison like that, you just go with the scene and believe it’s happening. It becomes simple like that. And, I guess that’s the practice and learning that I got from this movie.
“Not to think about it over like, don’t overly think about it. Just do it and then look at his eyes. Hahaha!” paglalahad ni Rhian.
LOOSENING UP WITH WINE. Kumusta naman siya sa noong gawin niya ang love scene nila ni Piolo sa Silong?
“Ah, hindi ko maalala. Humingi ako ng wine, I’m sorry. Hindi ko kinaya, e. Kasi grabe lang yung treatment na pinagusapan namin beforehand. Sabi ko, ‘Ganyan ba talaga Direk?’
“Kasi first love scene ko siya, so, ever. And then, idagdag mo pa na ganoong klaseng love scene pala, hahaha. Ayun, I was just really, really nervous. I said, ‘Wine,’ in my tent.”
Naka-ilang shot siya ng wine?
“Just half ng glass,” pag-amin ng 24-year-old actress.
How about Piolo? Kumusta siyang ka-eksena sa love scene?
“Yung scene mismo kasi hindi ko lang maalala. Naalala ko lang na kino-cover-up niya ako pagka-ano.
“Uh, for the actual movements that we did in the movie, I didn’t really remember how that played out.
“At least, I’m honest. Sorry.”
How true na napaka-daring ng love scene nila ni Piolo?
“Grabe talaga, sa totoo lang. Kung pwede lang ako’ng maging honest, grabe talaga siya. Hahaha!
“Kaya nga noong ine-explain sa akin talaga yung treatment, my jaw dropped talaga. Parang, 'Ganoon po ba talaga?’
“Kasi hindi siya sa kama, e.
“Medyo in-unleash ko yung inner beast ko, hahaha! Kailangan may lahat ng side [ko].”
Saan siya humugot para magawa niya ang daring love scene nila ni Piolo?
“Ah, hindi ko alam. Pero napag-usapan din naman naming kung ano, kung ano yung mangyayari sa eksena and everything. Pero siyempre, para maging believable, hanapin mo lang yung seductress inside.
“Sa lahat naman ng emotion na kailangang i-retain kahit hindi mo pa nae-experience kunwari, kahit ano pa’ng role ‘yan, kapag hindi mo siya personally na-experience, kaya mo pa naman ‘yan i-correct sa, something that you felt before. Mahahanap mo pa rin ‘yan.”
Hindi naman siya nag-aalala na baka pagkatapos ng Silong, ulanin na siya ng offers ng pelikula na may mga daring na love scenes?
“Uy, hindi naman. Siyempre babagayan naman natin sa mga movies na ano, ang mga atake sa kahit na anong eksena.”
Nakikita ba niya ang sarili niya na gagawa ulit siya ng project na mas daring pa sa role niya sa Silong?
“Uhm, well, siyempre because I’m older now I’m a little bit open-minded about it. When you talked to me about it, hindi na ako ‘yung, ‘Eww, ayoko.’ Hahaha! Hindi ba?
“But ah, siyempre malaking factor pa rin sa akin kung sa tingin ko necessary siya sa story kasi ayoko lang talagang gumawa ng kahit na ano’ng bagay na feeling ko andu’n lang para lang may bulungan lang about it or whatever.
“Gusto ko talagang necessary siya sa story. Yung nakakadagdag siya doon sa kwento.”
USING PLASTER FOR THE FIRST TIME. May pinakita ba siya na sensitive part ng kanyang katawan sa Silong tulad ni Piolo na nakita ang butt sa movie?
“They allowed me naman to plaster myself. Haha! They would give me 20 minutes to go plaster myself whenever there are scenes na medyo daring or whatever. So, ako na mismo yung nagdidikit ng bandages wherever kung ano yung gusto ko’ng takpan. Hinayaan namana nila ako sa mga limitations ko.
“Hindi, wala ako’ng scene na I need to bare myself. Hindi naman.
“Pero siyempre just for the safety of while shooting lalo na lahat naman nang tumutulong sa amin, magbuhat ng ilaw and everything ‘di ba? Lahat yun mga lalaki. Hahaha!
“So, you know, I had to protect myself lang, ganoon.”
First time ba niya na maglagay ng plaster sa katawan?
“First time,” natatawang sabi ni Rhian. “Hindi naman masakit. Tinibayan ko naman.”
SUPPORTIVE BOYFRIEND. Ano ang reaction ng kanyang non-showbiz boyfriend niya, ang sportscar racer na si Jason Choachuy?
“Hindi pa niya nakikita, actually. Hindi pa niya nakikita kasi noong pinalabas namin as a closing film of Cinemalaya, he was in Switzerland. So, hindi niya napanood.
“Then, uh, I think we’re probably gonna watch it sa regular screening.”
Bakit hindi niya isasama si Jason sa premiere night ng Silong?
“Oo, ang dami naman kasing nangyayari sa premiere night.
“I don’t think, well, ano, e, like for example for me, it was kinda overwhelming to have the movie premiere and then, my sister, my brother in law, my father, and my mom watch it there. It was an overwhelming feeling for me.
“So, parang now I think I want to do it, I want to show like my friends and family this side of me in, more in private. Kasi I feel I’m gonna start blushing tapos tatago ako. Haha!”
Ano sa palagay niya ang magiging reaksyon ng boyfriend niya kapag nakita ang love scene niya with Piolo?
“I think he’s going to like the movie because ano, he’s always naman kasi been the type of person na who encourages me to really just reach my full potential na parang gusto niya in all of my decision making inuuna ko yung gusto ko bago ko siya i-consider.
“He even tells me that. So, he’s very supportive in that sense. So, I think na kapag napanood niya yung movie he’ll be proud with what we have achieved.
“Tatakpan ko na lang yung mga mata niya sa love scene namin. Hahaha!”
Pero aware ba si Jason nna may love scene sila ni Piolo sa Silong?
“Oo, naikuwento ko sa kanya. Kasi recently lang din naman naging kami. So, nu’ng ilalabas namin yung movie, sabi niya, ‘Ano’ng movie ‘yan?’ So, kinuwento ko na and everything.”
Ilang months na sila ni Jason?
“Uh, six, seven or eight. Something like that.”
Hindi ba na-threaten o nagselos si Jason na may love scene siya with one of the most eligible bachelor actors in the business?
“Hahaha! No naman,” sabi ni Rhian.
“And also by the time that ayun nga, nalaman ko na ilalabas pala namin yung Silong, we had already shot it and by the time me and Jason got together the movie was already shot and everything. So, there was no more time for him to think pa about that part.”
