Gerald Anderson can hardly believe that Liza Soberano is only 17 years old.
The two are paired for the first time in the upcoming romance movie, Everyday I Love You.
In the film, Gerald is cast as the boyfriend of Liza's character. While her boyfriend slips into a coma, the young girl will become attracted to a producer (played by Enrique Gil).
The actor, who started his career by joining the reality show Pinoy Big Brother, is amazed to see the depth in acting shown by Liza.
MEMORIES OF KIM CHIU. Gerald plays the third wheel of the LizQuen love team in this movie directed by Mae Cruz Alviar.
"Si Liza, tatlong beses ko siya tinanong kung ilang taon ba siya talaga," said Gerald during the October 18 presscon of the Star Cinema movie held at the ABS-CBN compound.
"Kasi after every scene namin, medyo ma-drama yung mga eksena namin, nagtatanong ako, '17 lang ba ito? Napagdaanan ba niya ang sitwasyon na ito?'
"At 17, anong ginagawa ko noong 17?
"Love Spell! Ito tandang-tanda ko ang director. Sumasakit ang ulo niya kasi hindi namin magawa ang eksena ni Kim.
"Siyempre, bago pa lang at 17. Pero ito, nakakainis," he said with a smile.
He predicts that Liza will become even better in her craft as time passes by.
"Imagine when she becomes 20, 25.
"There's a lot to be excited about. Mahal din niya ang trabaho niya and they're both motivated to help their family.
"Para sa ganung motivation, you become unstoppable no matter what happens."
10TH ANNIVERSARY IN SHOWBIZ. In 2016, Gerald will celebrate his first decade in the entertainment industry.
"Nagstart ako nung 17 ako and now, I'm a young adult.
"Ang daming nagbago. Noong nag-join ako sa showbiz, nagbago ang buhay at ang daming opportunities.
"Natutunan ko: don't ever take anything for granted.
"Maraming mas gwapo, may itsura, mas magaling, mas bata.
"You have to love your work and mamahalin ka rin ng trabaho mo.
When asked if he is thankful for the last 10 years, Gerald admitted, "Kulang pa ang grateful kasi sa trabaho ko, nabigyan ko ng sariling bahay ang nanay ko.
"Yung mga kapatid ko, lahat sila they're set."
