Just days after announcing that she can no longer play Darna due to a health problem, Angel Locsin gets a movie project with a new leading man: Coco Martin.
Angel admits that she is moving on by accepting a movie and doing a new teleserye on the Kapamilya Network.
"May mga bagay tayong hindi naiintindihan... pero simula na ito ng moving forward and excited na akong harapin ang mga plano sa akin ng ABS-CBN itong 2016 and '17," Angel said in an interview with ABS-CBN News earlier today, October 29, when she renewed her contract.
Earlier this week, Angel posted in her Instagram account that it as "painful and hard decision" for her to give up reprising her role as Darna.
She then recalled the day when the big announcement was made:
Last October 26, ABS-CBN announced that Angel Locsin developed a disc bulge in her spine, which is why she could no longer portray Mars Ravelo's komiks superheroine Darna in an upcoming movie.

Right now, Angel is completing a movie with Governor Vilma Santos (the mother of her boyfriend Luis Manzano).
Angel's upcoming teleserye will mark her TV comeback after topbilling The Legal Wife that aired in 2014.
"Kidding aside, I miss acting. Natutuwa ako kapag nakakagawa ako ng panibagong character and yun nga after nitong movie na ginagawa namin with Governor Santos gusto kong gumawa ng teleserye and then another movie."
Angel is also looking forward to reuniting with Coco Martin for a future project.
In April, Angel and Coco topbilled the MMK episode that paid tribute to the fallen SAF 44 Commandos who died in Mamasapano, Maguindanao.
In her Instagram account, Angel posted a photo taken during her contract signing with ABS-CBN executives. She provided the caption: "Thank you ABS CBN management for the trust :)"
