As far as director Erik Matti knows, there is no actress chosen yet to replace Angel Locsin for his upcoming Darna movie.
When asked regarding the identity of the actress who will portray the Pinoy komiks superheroine, Direk Erik answered, "Wala pa. Mahirap siyang desisyunan kaagad."
This contradicts a previous announcement indicating that there is already an actress who will bring life to the iconic character.

The director graced the opening night of the 2015 Cinema One Originals Film Festival held last night, November 8, at Trinoma. His movie, Conman: Honor Thy Father topbilled by John Lloyd Cruz, served as the opening film.
"We would like to open it sana sa auditions," Direk Erik disclosed about the Darna role.
He admitted that they are still in the process of adjusting to this new development.
"Ang hirap na biglang nawala si Angel at ang hirap na bigla na lang nag-isip na ganun lang. Then ang tagal naming magkasama ni Angel sa project na 'yan."
It will be recalled that in 2014, it was announced that Angel was chosen to portray the Mars Ravelo komiks character.
However, health problems prevented Angel from reprising her role as Darna, which she previously portrayed for a GMA-7 telefantasya in 2005.

What was Direk Erik's reaction when he learned about the disc bulge in Angel's spine?
"Ang takot ko kasi kung anong mangyayari sa kanya [Angel] sa shooting. We were supposed to shoot na."
"Nag-uusap kami ng ABS-CBN at Star Cinema," assured Direk Erik about this movie that is scheduled to be released by 2016.
