Anyone who has had to deal with a difficult boss will relateto the character of Laida (played by Sarah Geronimo), an editorial assistantwho has to gratify all the demands of a magazine publisher named Miggy (played by JohnLloyd Cruz). They initially have gaps between them but later on, they come to realize the good qualities of each other while working on the magazine called Bachelor.
This is the first time that John Lloyd and Sarah will be paired upon the big screen and both of them are excited to see the reactions of theirfans.
"I am very proud of this movie, as usual, Direk Cathy issuperb and si Sarah, ang galing galing niya. I never expected that A VerySpecial Love will be very special to us and hopefully, sa mga manonood dinna sumusuporta sa akin, kay Direk [Cathy] at kay Sarah through the years, in ourindividual efforts," says John Lloyd.
Sarah, on the other hand, cherishes the good memories thatshe had while making this. "Nag-iisa si John Lloyd Cruz, hindi mo matatawarantalaga ang galing niya at napaka-professional. It's a dream come true sa akinna mabigyan ng pagkakataon na makatrabaho siya at sana, maulit pa."
When asked whether her character will fulfill her own dreamsin the movie, Sarah could only say, "Siyempre lahat naman tayo we root forLaida na matupad na ma-in love sa kanya ang kanyang Prince Charming na si Miggy‘di ba? Pero ‘yan iiwan ko na para sa sagutin ng pelikula."
Box-officedirector Cathy Garcia Molina and John Lloyd have collaborated on several moviesalready such as Close To You (2006) and last year's box-office winner OneMore Chance. But this is the first time that Direk Cathy has worked withSarah Geronimo.
With A Very Special Love being part of Star Cinema's15th anniversary, Direk Cathy can't help but be proud of this film, especiallysince this is her fifth project with ABS-CBN's film outfit. A co-production of Star Cinema and Viva Films, A VerySpecial Love opens in theaters nationwide starting Wednesday (July 30).
