Xian Lim asked tips from Kim Chiu on how to work with Governor Vilma Santos

Xian Lim said that he can relate very well to his character Albert in Everything About Her. "Ang same nilang dalawa is ang dami kong gustong patunayan, ang dami niyang gustong gawin." His new movie with Governor Vilma Santos and Angel Locsin opens on January 27 in cinemas.

Xian Lim thought that his first shooting day in Everything About Her would give him the chance to bond with Batangas Governor Vilma Santos and Angel Locsin.

However, a different thing happened.

“Yun nga ang akala kong mangyayari,” he told the press during his solo digital media conference on January 21.

He continued, “Kasi usually ganoon, e.

Apparently, director Bb. Joyce Bernal is currently practicing a new exercise for Xian and all the cast members: they are not allowed to talk with each other before and after takes.

However, Xian said that this exercise helped him deliver his role. “Very priceless, it’s very memorable.

Pero dito, let’s make it fresh.

“And yung eksena, wala nang reading.

RELATABLE ROLE. According to Xian, he can relate very much to his character Albert, the son of Vilma's character Vivian who grew apart from her.

“Si Albert dito is a very proud person.

And noong bumalik siya, hindi lang talaga siya humingi ng tulong, and he realizes a lot of things when he got to know his mother.

Xian shared that he can relate very well to his character since he only has his mother with him right now.

“Ako po kasi, only child po ako. And yung relationship ko with my mom is very… walang katumbas.

“Kasi growing up, nanay ko lang po talaga yung pinalaki po talaga ako, and being a single mom mahirap po siguro talaga yun.

“And si Albert, ang same nilang dalawa is ang dami kong gustong patunayan, ang dami niyang gustong gawin.”

He also said that it is normal for a mother and child to drift apart from each other.

“Nangyayari kasi sa lahat ng mother and son I think, and I believe nangyayari 'yan at one point.

“Lalo na kung single parent lang, kasi aakuin niya yung trabaho ng tatay, aakuin niya yung pag-aasikaso sa bahay, pagtatrabaho at the same time siyempre, papatakbuhin niya.

"She has to make sure na okay ka, sa school, sa lahat lahat.

Xian admitted that at one point in his life, he also had issues and conflicts with his mother.

“At one point, growing up, hindi ko kasi maintindihan yun, e.

“Back in High School, ito yung mga High School days at may mga hindi mo pa masyadong maintindihan.

“’Bakit Ma?

“But at the end of the day, ma-re-realize mo yung sakripisyo ng ina sa anak, ibang klase.”

The 26-year-old actor said that he considers this role as one of the most challenging projects he did in movies and in television.

“Pero it’s a learning process. Siyempre nandoon na rin yung kaba and basta I’m just really proud.”

WORKING WITH VILMA. When Xian learned that he will be working with the Star for all Seasons in this movie that opens in January 27 in cinemas, he immediately called his mother.

“Sabi ko, ‘Mom, hulaan mo sino yung makakatrabaho ko?’

“Sobrang saya ko noon. If I can remember, mga July nasabi sa akin yun.

Since his onscreen partner Kim has already worked with Vilma in The Healing, did he ask her for some tips?

“Tinanong ko siya kasi kinakabahan ako, e.

“’Paano ba?

How did Xian prepare knowing that he will be working closely with the veteran actress?

“I think if I remember it right, July pa lang po, kami ni Direk Joyce, nag-uusap na.

“We were… paulit-ulit naming binabasa yung script. Iba't ibang ideas, iba’t ibang emosyon.

“So once, before the shooting talagang may preparation nang naganap, meron ding immersion. I requested for an immersion.

“Talagang I had to focus and I know na I really have to work hard for this film.”

TANDEM WITH ANGEL. In Everything About Her, Angel's character who is a nurse becomes attracted to Albert (played by Xian).

However, the actor said that the audiences should not expect many kilig scenes between them.

“Kumbaga dito, ang pinapakita lang namin, it’s a family story.

“My relationship with my mom, my relationship with Jaica, and Jaica's relationship with Vivian and Albert.

“Pero siguro ang makikita niyo po dito, kung papaano…how we work together as a couple, yung kumbaga paano nga ba ma in love si Albert, and paano nga ba yung unang pagkikita ni Xian at Angel.”
