Oropesa earned the Best Actress award for her portrayal of a mother in the film Mrs., which also won Best Picture.

Mrs. won a total of four awards, including Best Cinematography and the Best Director award for Adolfo Alix Jr.

Alvin Anson was named as Best Actor for portraying a gunman in the action film Expressway.

The films will be screened until April 26 in the following cinemas: SM Megamall, SM Aura Premier, SM North EDSA, SM Mall of Asia, and SM Manila.

In her acceptance speech, Oropesa shared her award with Lotlot de Leon, her co-star in Mrs.

“Lot, hati tayo dito.

Oropesa plays an ageing woman caught into the throes of suppressed loneliness as she struggles to keep her promise of not abandoning the house left to her by her late father as well as unveiling the truth behind her lost son.

The veteran actress also revealed that she will be part of a new independent film by Arlyn dela Cruz titled Pusit. She also promoted her other profession as a doctor using alternative medicine.
