Dawn Zulueta goes "daring" as she portrays cougar in upcoming movie

Dawn Zulueta doesn't mind being cast as a cougar in Love Me Tomorrow as she strays from her usual mother roles. "It's a wonderful opportunity also for me to do something different kasi lately, usually ang nagagawa kong mga projects, yung mga role of a mother and then mga kids. Maiba naman."

If there is one thing that worried Dawn Zulueta about being paired with Piolo Pascual in Love Me Tomorrow, it would be the reception of moviegoers to their tandem.

For this reason, the 47-year-old actress was relieved after seeing a tweet from a fan.

She recalled, “May nabasa nga ako na isang tweet, sabi nila, ‘Wow, Piolo, Dawn, in fairness hindi sagwa tignan!’

“[Kasi] ang worry ko is yung natural reaction ng tao na eew, baka gumanon sila. I’m really grateful for that [compliment].

“Kaya exercise ako ng exercise, para masabayan ito, e. Kailangan. Sumasabay ka ba naman sila, medyo dehado tayo sa age.”

Dawn was talking about her co-stars Piolo, 39 and Coleen Garcia, 23.

The wife of politician Anton Lagdameo continued, “Pero really honestly, ganoon ang reaksyon ng mga tao. They’re kind to me.

“And I hope pag pinanuod nila yung pelikula, mas masarapan pa sila sa pinapanuod nila, because yung mismong istorya talaga is really fun, so heartwarming.”

In the TV trailer of the movie, Coleen’s character called Dawn a “two-faced cougar.”

During the May 12 media conference of Love Me Tomorrow at Alabang Town Center, Dawn was asked if she hesitated to accept the role of a cougar in the film.

She answered, “No, no. Not at all. I thought it was an exciting project.

“And I’ve long been wanting to work with Piolo. Matagal ko nang pangarap 'yan, makatrabaho siya.

“It’s just that hindi pa kami makaisip that time kung ano ang bagay na project sa amin, and I think this particular material is timely.

“Kaya noong sinabi nila na sa akin nila ibibigay tapos si Piolo ang makakasama ko, I really considered that as a great honor.”

Aside from working with Piolo, Dawn also took this opportunity for her to veer away from mother roles that she usually portrays on TV and the big screen.

“It’s a wonderful opportunity also for me to do something different kasi lately, usually ang nagagawa kong mga projects, yung mga role of a mother and then mga kids. Maiba naman.

“Nirequest ko lang dito sa project na ito, ayoko ng drama. I wanted to do something lighter para naman I can also explore my other facilities as an actress.”

SOMETHING DARING. In the first teaser shown, it was seen that Coleen and Piolo did daring love scenes.

Dawn was then asked if she will also have her share of daring scenes in the movie.

She revealed, “I’m gonna do something daring here, you have to watch for it. But I’m not saying what.”

The ABS-CBN actress then explained her limitations when it comes to doing these kinds of scenes.

“If I were younger, sure. [But] I had to be a little bit more choosy now.

“I have kids and this trailer and this teaser gets aired on primetime TV and I can’t explain with my kids [if they ask] 'What the hell are you doing?'

“But it’s great. I’m also excited to see that scene. It’s nice to see kasi actors collaborate together and make something really look so authentic and real. It’s wonderful to see that,” she concluded.
