Laut (starring Barbie Forteza), Esoterika: Maynila (starring Ronnie Liang) and Traslacion (starring Liza Diño and Aiza Seguerra) are the Filipino films to be featured in the SOHO International Film Festival in New York.

Three Filipino films are set to join the SOHO International Film Festival in New York.

These are: Louie Ignacio’s Laut, Elwood Perez’s Esoterika and Will Fredo’s Traslacion.

Earlier today, May 24, Liza Diño posted on her Instagram account that the docu-drama Traslacion, which featured her and partner Aiza Seguerra, is competing in the film fest.

She said in her caption: “OHOOO! NEW YORK BOUND THIS JUNE! Our dear documentary film about LOVE is heading to compete at SOHO International Film Festival this June 9 - 16, 2016.

“Please join me and the people behind "TRASLACION: The March to the Altar of Uncertainty" at its Premiere Night, East Village Cinema, New York City, New York, June 13, 8 pm!

“And yes, I swear YOU WOULD WANT TO FALL IN LOVE after watching the film! There's a fairy tale waiting to happen in all of us.”

The official website of SOHO also indicates that Laut and Esoterika are in the list of the films to be featured this year.

Esoterika, topbilled Ronnie Liang and Boots Anson-Roa, revolves around an aspiring graphic novelist.

Laut is a film about Badjaos who were relocated to Pampanga. It featured Barbie Forteza, Gabbi Garcia, and Jak Roberto.

It can be remembered that Barbie won Best Actress for Laut at the 36th Fantasporto International Film Festival in Porto, Portugal.
