"I grabbed her boob so you have to see that," said Bret Jackson about his sensitive scene with Pokwang in the Cinemalaya 2016 entry Mercury is Mine.

Bret Jackson has a complicated relationship with Pokwang's character in the upcoming Cinemalaya 2016 entry Mercury is Mine.

In fact, the 25-year-old actor said about their dynamics in this movie, "Sometimes motherly, sometimes medyo lover."

In an exclusive interview with (Philippine Entertainment Portal), Bret revealed that he shot sensitive scenes with Pokwang in the movie Mercury is Mine that will be screened from August 5-14, 2016.

How was it like having Pokwang as his lover in the movie?

"It’s really.. She’s really amazing to work with. I had a different outlook on her. For me, sa start ng film, I thought she'd be funny all the time on set pero she’s a serious actress tapos she’s really nice and sweet."

This is his first time doing intimate scenes with a much-older woman. Was it awkward for him doing those kinds of scenes?

"Yeah, of course, siyempre at first it was awkward kasi it’s Pokwang, she’s already a legend in my eyes. I was really nervous for it pero when it came to the scene naman.. we did our best."

Did he have any hesitations about accepting this project?

"No, kasi when I read the script I knew that it’ll become a really good film. No second guesses about it, as soon as I had it. There were other films that were in the works as the time, pero I didn’t wanna do them. Ito lang, I wanted to go for this the most."

Bret then revealed that he also turned down a TV project so he could star in Mercury is Mine.

In the film, a cook (played by Pokwang) is about to close down her eatery when a young white American teenager named Mercury (played by Bret) approaches her and begs for work in exchange for shelter.

Mercury becomes her lucky charm and from being a waiter, he learns how to cook Kapampangan dishes. Determined to keep Mercury all to herself, she takes care of Mercury and spoils him like her own son...or lover. She finds the perfect opportunity to prevent Mercury from leaving her whem she discovers his dark past.

Bret, Pokwang and the other stars shot this movie in Pampanga, in a Kapampangan eatery located at the foot of Mt. Arayat.

Did Bret and Pokwang shoot a love scene for this film?

"I grabbed her boob so you have to see that," he said with a laugh.

How did he feel about shooting that particular scene?

"I was scared! I was freaking out I was like, 'No I don’t know...I don’t know...I don’t know.”

After some time, he finally said, "Alright go at it na (laughs)."

What was Pokwang's reaction to the boob-grabbing scene?

"She was okay kasi it was part of the scene talaga pero...(laughs)."

How many takes did it take them to complete the scene?

"Dalawa kasi parang I’d do that then she smacks me. E, yung first scene parang...(laughs)."

After this scene, Pokwang's character gives Bret a hard slap.

Bret recalled, "Sa scene it was okay kasi kailangan talaga yun, pero after the scene and before.. ang kaba."

Mercury is Mine is one of the 9 full-length entries competing in the 12th edition of Cinemalaya. It will be screened from August 5-14 at the CCP and satellite venues at Greenbelt 3, Glorietta, Trinoma, UP Town Center, and Nuvali, Sta. Rosa, Laguna.

In Cebu, Cinemalaya 2016 will run from August 9-14 at Ayala Mall.

Is he willing to do more sexy scenes in the future?

"Well, yung first movie ko yung Your Place or Mine with Andi Eigenmann was pretty much, it was sexy scenes the whole time so keri naman. Kaya naman."

Would he be willing to bare his body onscreen?

"How much bare? (laughs) Depende, depende. Depende yun sa role, depende yun sa script, depende yun sa lahat."
