Enrique Gil led the cast members who attended the red carpet premiere of suspense/thriller film Dukot held at the Dolphy Theater, ABS-CBN compound last July 12.

He was joined by fellow cast members Ricky Davao, Bangs Garcia, Shaina Magdayao, Alex and Ping Medina as well as the film's director, Paul Soriano.

Dukot, which is now being screened in cinemas nationwide, is produced by Star Cinema and Direk Paul's own production company, Ten17 Productions. The film is graded B by the Cinema Evaluation Board.

It is based on a true story that happened in the Philippines more than eight years ago. It revolves around Carlo (Enrique Gil), who was kidnapped and kept in an abandoned place as his kidnappers demanded for ransom from his family.

According to Enrique, "Dukot is more about crime, about family. To what extent will you do for your family, what are you gonna do to save the life of your family. Anybody would do anything so that’s the scary part. If you’re willing to do anything for your family."

He agrees with people who says the film is very timely for the season. “Well, it’s a new year, new president, just wanna open people’s minds and show them there is change now. Be more open and be more safe.”

Enrique also reveals the story about his family that also went through a Budol Budol gang experience when he was younger.

“Siyempre I didn’t know at first. Yung Budol Budol gang na kinwento sa 'kin ng daddy ko, it’s a scary thing. It can happen to anyone. Nasa school ako tapos sinundo ako ng dad ko tapos sabi niya sa 'kin Mom had an accident.

"Kausap daw niya yung mom ko, pero parang may bula sa bibig so hindi clear. So na-aksidente daw mom ko, so when he got home, the maid was trying to open the door pero dad ko tinawagan nga yun, saying na kailangan daw ng pera.

"Afterwards, tinawagan ng dad ko yung mom ko talaga, okay naman pala mom ko."
