"Ang dami kong multo sa pag-arte. Hindi ko siya ide-deny kasi totoo siya," says Judy Ann Santos-Agoncillo admitting she had a hard time doing dramatic scenes again for Kusina.

Judy Ann Santos-Agoncillo admits she had a hard time playing the role of Juanita in her upcoming movie Kusina.

It's easier kasi I cook. It's harder because it's too sad,” Judy Ann said with a laugh.

The 38-year-old actress explained that with she's too happy with her life right now, making it difficult for her to act out dramatic scenes in her 2016 Cinemalaya Independent Film Festival entry.

Hirap na hirap akong humugot,” she said.

Judy Ann also noted that it has been a while since she last did a drama project.

Her last TV series was Huwag Ka Lang Mawawala in 2013 while her last movie was T'yanak in 2014.

In the past couple of years, Judy Ann was kept busy by hosting ABS-CBN shows such as Pinoy versins of
Masterchef and Junior Masterchef, and Bet On Your Baby.

Nung time na umarte kasi natakot na ako kasi hindi ko alam if it's still there.

Then, she reiterated, “I had a hard time.

The former Ploning actress is grateful she was able to bring out her dramatic skills again for the movie.

After a while, na-enjoy ko na siya, 'Ah, ito pala 'yong iniwan ko for quite some time,'” she said.

Despite what happened, Judy Ann said she never lost her confidence in acting.

Umarte man ako, medyo sa horror side or sa comedy.

COMPETING WITH NORA. In this year's Cinemalaya, there's a possibility that Judy Ann will compete with Superstar Nora Aunor who topbills the entry Tuos.

How does Judy Ann feel about this since she's also considered as a superstar in her generation?

“I've done so many movies na nagkakaataong magkasabay kami ni Ate Guy sa isang awards night.

“I always say na mahanay ka lang sa klase ng pelikulang ginawa ni Ate Guy, okay na okay na ako,” said Judy Ann.

She also stressed, “Hindi ako makikipagkumpitensiya.

If she has one wish in this coming Cinemalaya, Judy Ann said, “Gusto ko lang siyang makasama ulit sa isang kuwarto.”

Kusina and Tuos are two of the nine competing entries in the 12th Cinemalaya Philippine Independent Film Festival that will run from August 5-14, 2016.
