"We lost an opportunity to screen IMAGINE YOU & ME in Florida directly because of the pirated copies uploaded to FB and to YouTube," revealed Mike Tuviera (middle). He directed the romantic flick of Maine Mendoza and Alden Richards.

The Alden Richards-Maine Mendoza movie Imagine You and Me will not be shown in Florida because of movie piracy.

IYAM director Mike Tuviera lamented the fact that AlDub fans in this U.S. state will not be able to watch the first solo movie of their idols.

"We lost an opportunity to screen IMAGINE YOU & ME in Florida directly because of the pirated copies uploaded to FB and to YouTube," wrote Direk Mike on his Twitter account.

"Because of the film being uploaded and shared online illegally, AlDub fans in Florida and nearby areas will not be able to watch the film."

Addressing those who believe online piracy is a victimless crime, Direk Mike wrote: "So to those who think that piracy has little effect on studios or audiences, this is a concrete example."

When a fan asked for the reason, Direk Mike pointed out that Facebook and YouTube uploads hurt their chances of being screened in this state.

"We were under negotiations with that specific territory when the uploads happened."
