Dennis Trillo is expected to grace the first-ever "green carpet" event of Cinemalaya 2016 titled “SineMusiKalye sa Cinemalaya.”
Lakbay2Love lead actor Dennis Trillo will be making an appearance to thank his fans and greet his fellow bikers.
This bike ride-concert-outdoor screening all in one will take place this Saturday, August 13, 2016 at the front lawn of the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP) starting at 4 PM.
Bikers and bike enthusiasts are invited to join the bike ride around the CCP complex at 4:30 PM to be led by bike organizations Firefly Brigade and Tiklop.
Edward Fernandez of Gig Manila who wrote and performed for the official soundtrack of the film, Lakbay2Love, and other up and coming artists will serenade viewers with acoustic OPM. Prepare your hearts as Spoken Word artist Jemy Damian and Rod Marmol of Utot Catalog share their own hugot as well.
The main star of the event, though, is the film showing of Lakbay2Love, dubbed as the “first local bike movie in the Philippines” starring Dennis Trillo and Solenn Heussaff.
Directed by Ellen Ongkeko-Marfil, Lakbay2Love is a coming-of-age love story that uses biking as a vital storytelling medium depicting one’s journey towards nature and one’s self. Another thing to watch out for is the amazing nature cinematography as viewers feast on scenic spots around the country.
Lakbay2Love tells the story of Lianne (Solenn), a French-Filipina videographer—whose parents are separated and who have families abroad—trying to make a life of her own.
The film opens with her suffering from a devastating break-up with her long-time boyfriend Macky (Kit Thompson) who is a biker.
Depressed and lost, Lianne finds hope and direction when she and her best friend Monday (Patricia Ismael) are assigned to make a feature on climate change. Lianne meets Jay-R (Dennis Trillo), a forester who is also regarded as a legend in the biking community.
Lianne’s eyes are opened as she learns about biking and the environment from Jay-R. But just as she is starting to carve a new path for herself, Macky returns and turns Lianne’s life upside-down again.
Audiences are in for another special treat as the team raffles off goodies with folding Viper Bicycles as the main prize. To join the raffle, visit the Lakbay2Love booth at the Cinemalaya Festival at the CCP or check out their event page, SineMusiKalye sa Cinemalaya on Facebook.
The event is on a “pay what you can” basis. The organizers of SineMusiKalye sa Cinemalaya hope viewers get to fall in love with biking and nature once again and push for sustainable lifestyle and road-sharing. Ten percent of the collections will go to the family of the recent fallen biker, Mark Garalde.
Lakbay2Love has been graded A by the Cinema Evaluation Board.
It has been touring in different schools and organizations since its mainstream release last February 3, 2016. For film screening inquiries, call their office (Erasto Films) at 332-7485 / 236-4347. You may also email firstname.lastname@example.org
