There is no denying that Daniel Padilla and Kathryn Bernardo’s first onscreen kiss is a much-awaited big event for their multitude of fans.
The two haven’t done so in their previous box-office movies Crazy Beautiful You (2015) and She’s Dating The Gangster (2014).
Their supposedly first onscreen kiss on Pangako Sa ’Yo was a trending topic last year. But there was no shot of Daniel and Kathryn sharing a real kiss at the time.
Will it finally happen in Barcelona: A Love Untold?
Without giving any hint, Daniel carefully answered: “Siguro eto na yung movie na… Eto na yung maibabalik namin yung five years na suporta sa amin.
"Ito na siguro yung regalo namin sa kanila. Para ipakita namin yung pasasalamat namin sa limang taon nilang suporta sa amin. Yun na lang muna.”
He added that moviegoers should just watch for it in this movie, which is directed by Olivia Lamasan.
When prodded about how many times they shot their kissing scene, Daniel coyly reminded the entertainment press that Kathryn’s mom is amongst the audience at the presscon.
The 21-year-old actor exclaimed, smiling, “Tanungin niyo si Tita Min!”
On a serious note, Daniel smoothly explained why he refuses to say whether or not he and Kathryn finally shot their first kiss on the big screen.
He said, “Ayoko munang magsalita. Baka masyado silang mag-expect. Pero baka nga mag-expect masyado kayo. Panoorin natin.”
Kathryn, for her part, was also mum about it.
“Basta… Etong movie na ito magandang regalo para sa KathNiels [Kathryn-Daniel fans],” said the 20-year-old actress. “Kasi aside from the kissing scene—kung meron nga—ang daming kailangan abangan sa story.”
Daniel also tried to evade the question by highlighting other aspects of Barcelona: A Love Untold.
“Kesa pag-usapan natin yung kissing scene… Hindi lang yun, e. Yung puso ng storya na 'to is more important,” he eagerly said.
The entertainment press refused to be deterred, but Daniel still did not categorically answer any queries about the expected onscreen kiss between him and Kathryn.
“O, next question na tayo. Hindi nila binibigyan ng importansya yung [storya].”
