After 17 years, ABS-CBN executive Charo Santos-Concio makes a grand re-entrance to acting. She faced the camera in the lead role in a film by internationally renowned director Lav Diaz, which won the coveted Golden Lion award at the prestigious Venice Film Festival. John Lloyd Cruz (right) is one of her co-stars in this movie that runs for 3 hours and 46 minutes.

Paliwanag ni Charo, "That was really part of the plan.

"Pinakiusapan talaga kami ni Direk Lav not to talk about John Lloyd's role in the movie.

"We didn't want to pre-empt the premiere screening of the film.

"Kasi naiiba talaga ang ginampanan niya.

"Now that the cat is out of the bag, he's really great in the movie, ang galing."

IN CHARACTER.

"Method actor nga yata, hindi mo makausap.

"The moment that he puts his make-up, in character na siya.

"Kapag sinabi kong 'John Lloyd, taas mo boses mo'… 'Opo, Ma'am."

Dugtong pa niya, "But, really, he was in character, all the way until the last shooting day.

"Basta nagmi-make-up na siya, in character na siya.

"Magbabalik lang siya sa pagiging John Lloyd kapag nakaligo na siya, nagpalit na siya into his regular clothes.

"Dun mo lang siya makakausap, otherwise, he was in character."

EFFICIENT MOVIE-MAKING.

"And you know, they're all multitaskers, kahanga-hanga ang team ni Lav.

"Very efficient, very organized, very professional.

"Parang Lav doesn't even have to shout any instruction, they just know what to do.

"It's instinctive, kaya madali."

"Sabi niya, 'It would not be more than four hours.'

"Yun ang sinabi niya sa akin. 'A, okay, Direk," nakangiti niyang sabi.
