Angelica Panganiban works for the first time with Paulo Avelino for their upcoming movie The Unmarried Wife.
In the trailer of this Star Cinema movie, it can be seen that Angelica and Paulo will engage in a forbidden romance after the two of them came from wrecked relationships.
However, during the pictorial for the movie held last October, Angelica and Paulo seemed to have known each other for a long time since they really got along well with each other.
PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) and TV Patrol then asked the two how they broke the ice.
Wala talaga. Weird nga, e."
For his part, Paulo admitted that he got excited when he found out that he will be working with the 29-year-old actress.
In The Unmarried Wife directed by Maryo J. Delos Reyes, Anne (Angelica) finds out that her husband Geoff (Dingdong Dantes) has been cheating on her.
While she mends her broken heart and tries to fix her marriage, she finds comfort from Bryan (Paulo) who helps her to move on.
But then, Anne has to decide whether to forgive her husband or move on with her life with another man.
Angelica previously mentioned that her character will go through different kinds of pain altogether. "Emotionally, physically, verbally.
Meanwhile, Paulo said that he tried to let his character reflect the way men handle relationships in modern times.
During the pictorial, Angelica's Banana Sundae co-star and good friend Pokwang dropped by to wish the two luck for their new movie that will open in cinemas on November 16, 2016.
DIREK MARYO ON PAULO. Meanwhile, Paulo disclosed that he also felt intimidated by Direk Maryo during their first few shooting days.
The 28-year-old actor admitted, "Medyo nakaka-intimidate si Direk Maryo pero he's very hands on. Inaalalayan ka niya sa process, sa shots.
"Siguro way rin ni Direk Maryo yun to make the actor comfortable para makapag-perform sila ng walang iniisip."
This is not the first time, however, that Paulo and Direk Maryo worked with each other.
The two collaborated in the past when Paulo was still a GMA-7 artist and played the third wheel to Aljur Abrenica and Kris Bernal in the afternoon series Dapat Ka Bang Mahalin in 2009.
Seven years later, Direk Maryo witnessed how Paulo has changed in terms of acting and work ethics.
Nung nakita ko siya, sabi ko, 'Hintay ka lang anak, you will have your time.'
"And I think, this is his ripening period.
Bumubuka, umuusbong. Nagkakaron siya ng passion for it.
"Hihigitan pa niya yan in the coming times that he is maturing as an actor."
