Dingdong Dantes hopes artists from other TV networks will get to work with Star Cinema

Dingdong Dantes recalls that he was rooting for Paulo Avelino when the latter was a contestant in StarStruck: The Next Level way back in 2006.




GMA-7 actor Dingdong Dantes is grateful to Star Cinema for tapping him once again to topbill its upcoming movie titled The Unmarried Wife.

In this film, he gets the chance to work with Angelica Panganiban and Paulo Avelino, who was initially discovered on the GMA-7 artista search StarStruck. hopes other GMA-7 artists will get chance to work with ABS-CBN's film production arm.

"Hindi naman po posible ito kung wala rin yung blessing ng GMA Network. Sa kanila po ako unang magpapasalamat and of course, sa Star Cinema dahil napag-isipan nila na kunin ako.

"Maliit naman po talaga ang industriya natin at napakaganda po sana kung mas nangyayari ito often, hindi lang po sa akin kundi sa lahat na rin po ng artista in both networks kung saan man.

"We should also be thankful na ang ating movie industry is in a better position than where it was probably years ago dahil mas marami na pong napo-produce na movies at marami na ring bagong artista.

"Wouldn't it be nice kung maraming ganitong klaseng collaboration in the future?"

In the past, Dingdong has topbilled the Star Cinema movies Segunda Mano (2011), One More Try (2012), and She's The One (2013).


ON PAULO AVELINO. When Dingdong hosted StarStruck: The Next Level in 2006, he recalled that he was rooting for Paulo back then.

Paulo was one of the contestants in the fourth season of the Kapuso artista search.

Dingdong admitted, "Dun sa StarStruck, isa siya talaga sa...

"May mga side bets kami nun.

"During that time, I could say na si Paulo ang na-predict ko na magiging significant actor of this generation.

"True enough, nangyari nga and proud na proud ako sa kanya."

Paulo simply said with a smile, "Speechless."

The former StarStruck Avenger was eliminated before the grand finals.
