Liza Soberano and Enrique Gil are currently in South Korea to shoot scenes for their upcoming movie.
Titled My Ex and Whys, this film is helmed by Cathy Garcia-Molina, their previous director in the ABS-CBN primetime series Forevermore.
In this Star Cinema movie, Enrique's character is a former playboy who wants to prove to his ex-girlfriend that he has changed.
"I'm super excited for the movie. It's a nice story, it's a nice movie, nakakatawa siya," said Enrique in an interview with ABS-CBN News.
Liza added, "It's a very light movie, it's a movie [that will make] you fall in love all over again."
Enrique then explained, "Dapat sana this year pero ang sabi sa akin, it's gonna be next year. Sa 2017 na po ang movie namin.
He said about his character, "Ako si Gio, ako yung drummer sa banda sa school. Playboy dati. Ang story: paano ko ipo-prove sa ex-[girlfriend] ko na nagbago na ako.
"Nagbago na talaga ako. Pero dahil may ginawa nga akong masama, siya naman yung hindi nagbabago yung feeling niya sa akin."
As for Liza, she said, "Ako naman si Callie. I play the ex of his character and also, I'm a blogger in the movie. Very modern ang dating ng character ko.
"I'm the type of person na takot ma-in love. I'm scared to fall in love again because I'm scared to get hurt all over again.
Other loveteams in ABS-CBN such as Kathniel (Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla) and Jadine (James Reid and Nadine Lustre) have done mature projects already. Does this mean that LizQuen will follow as well?
"I think it was just the right time for them to start," said Liza. "Pero we are still going to give it some time, pakaunti-unti lang iyong pagma-mature."
Enrique pointed out, "Mas mature ang relationship ng characters namin dito. Maraming eksena sa movie na galing sa true life experiences ng mga friends niya, minsan sa kanya."
Liza hinted that the movie will tackle the topic of cheating in a relationship.
"We even had a dinner asking guys about different situations when it comes to relationships at bakit nga ba nambabae ang mga lalaki."
