Theatre actress Cris Villonco had the privilege to portray Lavinia, the iconic role that seasoned actress Cherie Gil played in the classic film Bituing Walang Ninging.
In the theater production of the said film, Cris was able to throw the famous line, "You're nothing but a second-rate, trying hard, copycat!"
Fast forward to the opening night of her latest stageplay Fun Home alongside with Lea Salonga on November 10 at the RCBC Plaza in Makati, the two incarnations of Lavinia met face-to-face and the funniest coincidence happened: Both wore almost identical white, cowl-necked tops!
Both actresses grabbed the opportunity to do the classic, wine-throwing scene to pay homage to their character.
Cris shared the photo on her Instagram account.
She captioned, "This AMAZING thing happened... we both found ourselves wearing cowl necks.
And we just had to do it..
"And then she told me to do it back at her, and I refused.
"There's only one Lavinia and she paved the way for me to do such a role."
In the caption, Cris told Cherie, "YOU will always be Lavinia."

Aside from the wonderful feeling of waking up to such gracious comments and praises for our opening... this AMAZING thing happened... we both found ourselves wearing cowl necks. And we just had to do it. And then she told me to do it back at her, and I refused. There's only one Lavinia and she paved the way for me to do such a role. Thank you for your understanding and generosity @mycherieamour Cherie, YOU will always be Lavinia. Thank you @gheeay and Tita Cecille for this incredible idea!
