The Unmarried Wife grosses P136 million, according to Star Cinema

"Ang feeling ko ngayon, sana pala ako nag-produce, kung alam ko lang," joked Angelica Panganiban when asked about the strong performance of The Unmarried Wife in the box-office.

This relationship drama has earned P136 million in the box-office as of November 25, according to Star Cinema.

During the November 25 blog con held at the 9501 restaurant, Angelica continued, "Para sa akin rin yung perang yun.

In this film, Angelica's character is torn between her husband who is a serial cheater (played by Dingdong Dantes) and a newfound love (played by Paulo Avelino).

She turned serious as she said, "Hindi naging biro yung pagbuo, yung pagbuild ng character, ng story niya, yung structure niya.

She admitted, "Hindi ko talaga ito ine-expect. Feeling ko noon, 'May manonood ba nito?'

"Nagulat ako nung first day kumita kami agad. Hanggang ngayon maganda ang takbo ng pelikula."

What would she consider as her most difficult scenes in the movie?

"Pag umiiyak, marami kang iniisip."

She recalled how long it took for them to shoot the emotional scenes with their director Maryo J. Delos Reyes.

"Parang nagsimula kami 7 pm hanggang 2 am umiiyak kaming dalawa.

In The Unmarried Wife, there is a debate between two mothers who presented two viewpoints regarding cheating. Irma Adlawan's character (as the mother of Angelica in the movie) argues that women should not tolerate their cheating husbands while Marina Benipayo (as the mother of Dingdong in the movie) believes women should be more understanding if a man becomes weak and unfaithful.

Which side does Angelica believe in?

"Alam mo, parehas, e, kasi na-state nila ang...Ganun tayo sa society natin."

She expounded on Irma's argument by saying:

Angelica then pointed out the flaws of Marina's argument by saying, "Yung sa isa naman, 'Pag lalaki, pwede sabihin, 'E, lalaki 'yan. Normal 'yan sa lalaki.'

"Sa babae, kinakahiya ka na ng publiko."
