Liza Soberano admits having a hard time playing a mature role in My Ex and Whys: "I'm only 18 and I haven't experienced the things my character has experienced."

Liza Soberano has yet to shoot heavy dramatic scenes with Enrique Gil for their upcoming movie My Ex and Whys.

Well, we're almost finished shooting the movie,” the 18-year-old Kapamilya actress told (Philippine Entertainment Portal) and other reporters who interviewed her before she was introduced as the new brand ambassador of Technomarine last December 3.

She disclosed, “We're going to be showing early next year.

We still have about six to seven shooting days.

Those are the most critical shooting days kasi mabibigat na eksena na 'yon.”

According to Liza, they stopped filming for a while “due to other priorities and schedule.”

However, she assured her fans,
We'll be going back to shooting probably next year.”

DIFFERENT CHARACTER. In the movie, Liza portrays a 24-year-old blogger named Cali.

“The story pretty much revolves around a girl who's been hurt so much that she's afraid to fall in love again. She becomes narrow-minded on what love really is,” she said about her role.

The former Dolce Amore actress admitted it was bit difficult for her to portray a more mature character.

I'm playing an even more mature role because I'm playing 24-year-old who has experience in life.

It's hard for me to portray because I'm only 18 and I haven't experienced the things my character has experienced.”

She feels grateful that her co-stars and director Cathy Garcia were always ready to help her.

“Slowly by slowly I'm getting there with the direction of Direk Cathy and with the help of my co-actors.

They always guide me, they help me out through the scenes, so I'm blessed with that also.”

Aside from playing a mature character, Liza also experienced some trouble when they filmed the movie in South Korea.

I would say that our hardest scenes would have to be in our Korea shoot,” she recalled.

It was very...well not rushed, but we're always in a hurry because, of course, it's different when you shoot in a different country.

There's a time limit at the locations.

There's other people and hindi mo naman mapapakiusapan ang mga Koreana at Koreana na, 'Wait lang, shoot lang po kami.'

They wouldn't understand us anyway.

There's a lot of different things going on that contribute to the factor of us becoming more nervous while shooting because medyo magulo.”

Liza was unsure if they need to go back to South Korea for this Star Cinema movie.

Despite this experience, the young actress remained confident that they all did a good job during their shoot abroad.

I am pretty sure that we were able to pull it off and Direk Cathy did fine while shooting it.

I'm excited to see the outcome,” she ended.

My Ex and Whys is the fourth movie of the LizQuen love team. Their previous movies were She's The One (2013), Just The Way You Are (2015), and Everyday I Love You (2015).
