Matteo Guidicelli had a lot to be thankful for in 2016.
Among these were two of his showbiz projects, ABS-CBN primetime series Dolce Amore and Matteo Made in Cebu concert.
“I think those two projects were like super highlight [sa 2016],” he told PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) in an interview recently.
“Especially Dolce Amore, you know, it's like a project of my life.
“I enjoyed it the most, I worked with people who are very talented and with my favorite director, Direk Mae Cruz.
“With Matteo Made in Cebu, I get to work with my dream team—Louie Ocampo, Rowell Santiago, Martin Nievera.”
The concert was very successful that Matteo and his team are planning to mount it in Manila.
“That's the plan, we hope to bring it here in Manila. Not just here, we hope we can bring it around in the Philippines,” he said.
This 2017, Matteo might take a short break from doing teleseryes because he wants to focus on movies and completing his second music album.
“I wanna do more films,” said the singer-actor-triathlete about his plans this year.
“I wanna do more substantial [movies]. I wanna do films that have more meaning, that can make a change in the society now.
“It can be mainstream, it can be an indie, it doesn't matter.
“Basta something with good directors, good writers, something very interesting and something different.”
He also mentioned, “I will also start working on my second album, a very personal album and with all-original songs.”
Matteo clarified, however, he would still consider doing a teleserye if he's offered to be part of an action series.
He smiled, “Tingnan natin kung may magandang opportunity and magandang role.
“It has to beat Dolce Amore, the role of Gian Carlo.
“You know, I love that role. Astig yung Gian Carlo na 'yon.
“So, I have to do another role, it has to be cool. I want sana like an action teleserye.”
If not, Matteo said his focus in 2017 would be “movies and music muna.”
