Vice Ganda and Coco Martin’s comedy-action film The Super Parental Guardians is reportedly the highest grossing film in the Philippines.

This was announced by Star Cinema AdProm Manager Roxy Liquigan on December 28, 2016 through his Twitter account.

However, the Star Cinema executive did not divulge the exact box-office gross of the film, which premiered last November 30 in cinemas.

It was able to beat the record of another Vice-Coco movie, Beauty and the Bestie, which was an entry to last year’s Metro Manila Film Festival.

Last December 24, it was reported that TSPG already reached the 500 million mark.

Directed by Bb. Joyce Bernal, The Super Parental Guardians continues to be shown in provincial cinemas even though MMFF 2016 started last December 25. The movie is now on its fifth week of showing.

Meanwhile, Vice Ganda also took to Twitter to express his happiness about the new record set by his movie.

He wrote, “Nag-Vatican [lang] ako kahapon. Tapos natulog. Pag gising ko may ganito na. Iba din talaga to si Lord e. Ginagalingan din talaga! #tenkyuLORD.”

TSPG also stars ABS-CBN’s two new child wonders Awra Briguela and Simon “Onyok” Pineda.
