“I don’t think life should stop when you get married,” said Coleen Garcia when asked if she will still do sexy roles once she’s married to fiance Billy Crawford.
It can be recalled that the couple got engaged last December 20.
In spite of her soon-to-be-married status, the Extra Service star maintained that Billy has always been supportive of her career moves.
For the past two years, she pursued daring roles in movies including #Y (2014), Ex With Benefits (2015), and Love Me Tomorrow (2016).
She was also cast in the now-defunct sexy drama soap, Pasion De Amor (2015-2016).
The 24-year-old Kapamilya actress elaborated, “I think my personal decision should not affect my career pa rin.
“Even with Billy, ayoko rin makaapekto sa career niya and sa kanyang mga decisions.
“And ever since naman, we would always decide together. Kahit nung girlfriend and boyfriend pa lang kami, we would always respect each other pa rin.
“Siyempre ngayon mas ma-strengthen pa yung respect namin for each other. Pero we will not stop each other from doing what we do.”
As for her career goals, Coleen said that she is looking forward to do more challenging roles in the future.
“Kasi engaged or not engaged, gusto ko talaga mag-move forward sa career ko. Ayoko rin ma-stuck sa isang point of my career, ayoko rin ma-typecast. So, either way naman, I really want to move forward.”
PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) was able to interview Coleen at her solo blog con for Extra Service last January 12.
Asked about working with Arci Munoz and Jessy Mendiola in Extra Service, Coleen said that there was no reason for her to feel uncomfortable around them.
She said, “They never made me feel that I should be threatened by them. Minsan kasi nakukuha mo yung vibe na yun, e. Minsan may irap factor, e.
“Pero sa kanila they never made me feel that I should be threatened by them. Because they were always very friendly.”
For her part, Coleen admitted that she actually had fun working with her equally sexy co-stars.
“Siyempre may wow factor, ang se-sexy at ang gaganda ng mga kasama ko.
“Pero I think, generally, I am also very secure with myself. I try to give my best.
“Even outside of that, siguro sabihin natin sa pagiging sexy, I try to work out din naman.
“So kumbaga, I’m not like threatened or anything kasi mababait sila. And I couldn’t think of any two people who are better for their roles.”
In Extra Service, the trio portrayed secret agents who are part-time masseuses by day.
Directed by Chris Martinez, Extra Service is currently showing in cinemas nationwide.
