Lea Salonga thinks her reunion movie with Aga Muhlach might not happen this 2017.
"I would love to if schedules work out. But I'm looking at my year and certain prospects and possibilities...and I am not optimistic about our prospects for doing a film this year," said the Broadway star who admitted that doing a movie is not a priority for her at this time.
Lea is gearing up for her Songs from the Stage concert to be held from February 17-18 at the PICC Plenary Hall in Pasay. The Filipina singer is also slated to debut at the Sydney Opera House in Australia on February 3-4.
As for her much-awaited movie with Aga, Lea pointed out, "I have yet to see a script. He says he has seen it. I haven't seen it yet."
"I think we both need to be in fighting shape.
"He says he's been working out. He says he's been eating right. I have yet to see evidence of this," she quipped.
Lea also disclosed, "He's now in America and you know what happens when we go to the States."
The Tony and Olivier award-winning performer said about her future plans,"For me, film is not a priority in my career. My priority is musicals and concerts.
"And I have The Voice [ABS-CBN's talent search].
"My plate's kinda full with that. For me, kung magkaroon kami ng oras na parehong sabay, gagawa. Pero kung hindi talaga magkatugma, e, di wala.
"It's no great loss. It will be fun, I will admit, because we have a good time together, but we'll see."
If the project does push through, Lea is hoping that the story would be suited to them.
"It has to really be right, I mean, we are approaching late 40s na. So kailangan hindi na pa-cute, di na kami bagay doon," quipped the 45-year-old singer.
In August 2015, it was announced that Lea and Aga would reunite for a movie slated for 2016.
However, the movie was not made. This could have been their follow-up project to their past films Sana Maulit Muli (1995) and Bakit Labis Kitang Mahal (1992).
