Rita Gaviola (leftmost) and Mark Neumann (rightmost) are just some of the guests who attended the advance screening of the horror movie Pwera Usog. Starring Joseph Marco and Sofia Andres (middle), the movie is showing in cinemas today, March 8.

Sofia Andres and Joseph Marco led the cast at the premiere night of their horror movie Pwera Usog last night, March 7, at Greenhills Theater in San Juan City.

(L-R) Joseph, Sofia, director Jason Paul Laxamana, cast members Kiko Estrada, Devon Seron, and Cherise Castro thanked their supporters, especially since the movie was Graded A by the Cinema Evaluation Board.

Cast member Albie Casino was not present during the advance screening.

In the story, Sofia plays Jean, a video blogger who documents the pranks she does to other people. Her pranks went too far when she accidentally did a crime along with her friends (played by Cherise and Albie). Mysteries and terrifying events then started happening to her life.

Sofia's perennial onscreen partner and rumored boyfriend Diego Loyzaga wasn't able to attend the screening since he is busy shooting an upcoming horror film titled Bloody Crayons. Sofia is also a part of BloodyCrayons.

Joseph plays Jean's ex-boyfriend Sherwin, who will help her uncover and solve the mysteries that has been happening to their barkada.

Kiko Estrada plays Quintin, a son of an albularyo (played by Aiko Melendez) who will also help Jean solve the unexplained supernatural events.

Devon Seron is Luna, the beggar whom Jean and her friends accidentally killed. She then started haunting Jean and her barkada.

New Regal Baby Cherise Castro plays Jean's supportive friend and Albie's girlfriend.

TV5 actor Mark Neumann attended the premiere night to support director Jason Laxamana. They worked together in the CineFilipino entry Ang Taba Ko Kasi.

According to Mark, his contract with TV5 will end this July. However, he did not divulge future plans for his career.

Pinoy Big Brother Lucky 7 teen housemate Rita Gaviola also graced the screening.

Indie film actor Kiko Matos also came to support Direk Jason.

Kiko's mother, actress Cheska Diaz, also showed support for her son.

ABS-CBN teen actress Kyline Alcantara also came to support her fellow Star Magic artists.

Pwera Usog director Jason is flanked by the movie's two leading men Kiko and Joseph.

Produced by Regal Films, Pwera Usog is scheduled to open in cinemas today, March 8.  The film also features veteran actresses Aiko Melendez, Rommel Padilla, and Eula Valdes in special roles.
