Julia Barretto and Joshua Garcia are set to topbill a new movie this 2017.
A story conference for this still-untitled movie was held on April 18.
It was revealed that "hugot" movie director Antoinette Jadaone will helm the new film of the JoshLia tandem, which uses the hashtag #JoshLiaMovie2017.
Direk Antoinette said about the movie, "Tungkol siya sa isang lalaking nameet ang isang sobrang weirdong babae.
"In the process, they will experience in their young age a love na hindi usually na-e-experience ng millennials their age.
"A great love na kakaiba na akala natin sa start, nag-umpisa lang sa pagkagusto sa aliens pero much more than that."
This film serves as their follow-up project after the success of the 2016 Metro Manila Film Festival entry Vince and Kath and James with Ronnie Alonte as the third wheel.
The JoshLia love team also topbilled an episode of Maalaala Mo Kaya in February 2017.
JANELLA AND RONNIE. On television, Julia is paired with Ronnie via the ABS-CBN primetime series A Love To Last.
Asked if Ronnie is part of the film, Julia answered, "I don't think he's part of this because he's doing another movie under Star Cinema."
For his part, Joshua will figure in a love triangle with Janella Salvador and Elmo Magalona in Kung Kailangan Mo Ako. The upcoming drama series is also scheduled to air this 2017.
In an interview with YES! Magazine writer Shara Cayetano held last April, Julia said that she still supports Joshua's projects, even if he is not paired with her.
Julia promised, "Whatever he does, I’m always gonna be proud of him, I’m always gonna be there to support him.
"But I’m gonna keep him close, he’s not going anywhere! I’m keeping him close," she ended with a laugh.
No playdate has been announced yet for the JoshLia film.
