Claudine Barretto: "To me, KathNiel is the new Rico-Claudine."

After watching Barcelona: A Love Untold and Can't Help Falling In Love, Claudine Barretto thinks that Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla is the new generation's version of her team-up with Rico Yan.

Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla's movie Can't Help Falling In Love has already reached the P100 million mark.

This is according to Star Cinema's Instagram post last April 19, 2017.

The movie, which shows KathNiel as an accidentally married couple, started its showing last Black Saturday, April 16.

CLAUDINE-RICO TANDEM. Meanwhile, actress Claudine Barretto expressed her joy upon watching Can't Help Falling In Love.

According to Claudine, the KathNiel movies Barcelona: A Love Untold (2016) and Can't Help Falling in Love have a resemblance with her films in the past like Milan (2004) and Got 2 Believe (2002).

In fact, she even likened the KathNiel tandem to her love team with Rico Yan during the 90s to the early 2000s.

She wrote on her Instagram post, "Congratulations Starcinema & Kathniel.i have watched BARCELONA i reallly felt that kathniel does the same movie as my movies #canthelpfallinginlove reminds me of Got to believe. To me #kathniel is the new Rico-Claudine you have my support all the way!!!"

Coincidentally, Kathryn and Daniel also starred in a drama series titled Got To Believe in 2013, which had a different storyline from Rico and Claudine's last movie together.

In the '90s to the early 2000s, Claudine and Rico's love team was known as one of the most successful team-ups. They starred in two teleseryes: Mula sa Puso (1997) and Saan Ka Man Naroroon (1999).

They also did a string of box-office hits: Radio Romance (1996), Madrasta (1996), Flames: The Movie (1997), Dahil Mahal na Mahal Kita (1998), Mula Sa Puso: The Movie (1999), and Got 2 Believe (2002).
