Will Sarah Lahbati play Valentina in Darna movie?

In the past few months, fans have been speculating about the new Darna after Angel Locsin can no longer reprise the role of the Pinay superheroine. 

Fans are also excited to see who will play the other iconic characters in the movie, including the main villainess Valentina.

As of press time, ABS-CBN actress Sarah Lahbati is one of those rumored to portray the snake goddess.

In an interview with ABS-CBN News, Sarah revealed that she has not received any offers regarding the role.

She said, “Honestly, I have no idea. Nababasa ko siya on my comments, kung anu-ano ang mga nababasa ko pero I have no confirmation from my boss or from the Viva management."

The 23-year-old actress welcomes the idea of portraying Valentina.

“I would love to play Valentina. Sana.

"If it’s for me, it’s for me. It’s just talks. Naabutan ko yung Darna before so I’m kind of familiar."

Iconic actresses who have portrayed Valentina in the past were Cherie Gil, Pilar Pilapil, Alessandra de Rossi, Iwa Moto, and Celia Rodriguez.

. Sarah was also asked why she is not currently visible on television today, aside from her dance performances in ASAP.

The actress disclosed, “I decided to take a break. I decided to give time to my family. I miss my Sundays.

"I am working Monday to Friday tapos Friday to Sunday, ASAP time ko yun.

"Parang nawala yung time ko for my family and that’s so important for me."

The Kapamilya actress is set to have a special role in the teleserye The Promise of Forever, starring Ritz Azul and Paulo Avelino.

Sarah's last regular teleserye was the 13-week series My Super D.
