Kris Aquino would not give specific details about the Hollywood movie she just finished filming in Singapore last June.
However, the TV host-actress shared her filming experience with PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) and select reporters during a product endorsement shoot on July 4.
Saying she could not divulge details because of a non-disclosure agreement, she simply said that she enjoyed working with the Hollywood film’s director, whom she also did not name.
“The thing lang that I can, siguro, the thing that they won’t get mad at me about is just to say that the director is just super duper the nicest.
“I love him and natuwa siya sa akin kasi kinuha niya lahat ng contact information namin. Nasabi niya na parang, ‘Let’s work together again,'" recalled Kris.
“E, di ba, ang mga Kano, hindi sila bolero. Sabi ko, ‘Gusto niya ko, thank you, Lord! Thank you, Lord!”
For months, Filipino movie enthusiasts have been speculating that Kris got a part in Warner Bros.’s movie adaptation of the Kevin Kwan novel Crazy Rich Asians (2013).
Speculations intensified after Kris flew to Singapore last June to shoot a film, and dropped clues about the movie and her role in it through her social media accounts.
The so-called Queen of All Media even posted a photo with Crazy Rich Asians lead actress Constance Wu.
The Filipina star made no mention of the film, but wrote that she was a fan of the Wu’s American series Fresh Off The Boat.

AUDITIONING FOR THE ROLE. The 46-year-old media personality happily mentioned that she can already divulge how she auditioned for the Hollywood film.
“I think the part about the audition, I can make kwento,” she said.
According to Kris, it took 16 days before she learned the results of the audition.
“Kasi, Thursday sinabi, e. I did the whole audition, and we set it all up and did everything on a Saturday, and then sent it Sunday.
“I got worried about it, Wednesday, but only from the first layer. Five layers yun. Until malalaman mo na first layer pa lang yun, that’s the agency assigned to find other Asian artists.
“After that second agency, tapos caster, tapos producer. After producer, pupunta pa kay director.
“Ang tagal hinintay, as in talagang 16 days. 16 days yata yun na di ako nakatulog sa kakahintay na talagang sinabi ko, ‘Oh My God.’”
Kris was frank about admitting that she spent a lot of money for this rare opportunity.
She continued, “And 'yon, I’m not embarrassed to say na talagang super ginastusan, as in talagang dalawang Alexa cameras ang ni-rent namin. The whole production, parang commercial.
“[We] got a commercial director, got Shayne Sarte [director of photography], as in got the presidential suite of Peninsula to do that audition.
“Dahil sabi ko, chance na ito. If hindi ko ito gastusan, kasalanan ko na kasi binigay na yung chance. Galing.
“It was just one of the best experiences I ever had in my life kasi natuwa sila sa akin!”
MEETING KEVIN KWAN. Kris also happily revealed that she is set to meet Crazy Rich Asians author Kevin Kwan in person.
Kris has openly admitted that Kevin is one of her favorite authors.
In fact, she has already read Crazy Rich Asians and its two sequels: China Rich Girlfriend (2015) and Rich People Problems (2017).
The Queen of Talk—Kris's other title—said that she will be seeing Kevin on August 27 for a book-signing engagement jn Cebu.
“August 27, Kevin will be here. SM Seaside kami ni Kevin, finally.
“We’re friends na kasi he… ano yung tawag dun, yung Instagram direct!
“And then, he texted me, and then he said he’ll be here. I was given permission already to say that we’ll be together for the book event in Cebu.”
What excites her even more is the fact that Kevin featured the Philippines in the third book.
She exclaimed, “I’m so excited kasi... you’ve read the third book? Di ba, binida niya Philippines?! That’s why I love him!
“Love niya ang Philippines, so nakakatuwa.
“And then, when he was, noong nagtetext kami, sinabi niya, I really wanted to find a way for my agents to make it happen that I’ll be there for two weeks.
“So gustong gusto niya tayo! Di ba nakakatuwa na gusto niya tayo?!”
WHOLE EXPERIENCE. In the interview, Kris recalled what she witnessed while shooting a Hollywood movie.
“Super nakakaano kasi iba pala talaga yung the whole experience.
“Sabi ko nga, parang sabi ko, I’m so happy na parang once in my life, nakita ko na ganun pala.
“Kasi iba sila talaga. It’s really… yung what you imagine na ganun, ini-exceed yung ini-imagine mo. Ganun ka high tech, super.
“At saka walang sumisigaw. Lahat kalma. Oo, promise!
“Tapos yung positioning ng cameras, nakaka-amaze kasi parang lahat kuha. Kung pwede ko lang makwento talaga!”
Kris reiterated that she is really not allowed to mention any specific detail because of the non-disclosure agreement.
If she violates the contract, she said, there is a big possibility her scenes would be edited out and she would have to pay a penalty.
“So, shut up na lang ako,” she quipped.
