Barbie Forteza and Ken Chan are set to topbill a movie produced by Regal Films.
Titled This Time I'll Be Sweeter, the film serves as their follow-up project after their KenBie team-up prevailed in the recently-concluded GMA-7 primetime series Meant To Be.
In the show, Barbie had three other leading men: Ivan Dorschner, Jak Roberto, and Addy Raj.
In the July 25 episode of 24 Oras, it was revealed that Thea Tolentino will be the third party to the Barbie-Ken Chan love team.
During an interview with PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) and other reporters last July 23, during a visit to the set of Sunday PINASaya, Barbie gave hints about their upcoming movie.
She said, "Feeling ko, kadugtong ng Meant To Be kasi unang-una, si Ken yung kasama ko, so parang tinuloy lang namin yung Meant To Be.
"Tapos yung story niya, light na hindi kasing light ng Meant To Be. Rom-com pero may mga ganun [dramatic scenes].
"Nakaka-excite din kasi hindi ko rin sure kung papaano mababalanse na mama-market siya as romcom pero may acting. Ganun!"
The Kapuso teen actress is also excited since this marks her return to doing mainstream movies.
Her last two movies--Laut and Tuos (both shown in 2016)--were both independent films.
Her last mainstream movie was the Vic Sotto-starrer My Little Bossings in 2013.
Lately, it has been noticed that Barbie keeps herself busy by doing workouts.
During Meant To Be's summer episodes, the 19-year-old actress surprised everyone when she wore a two-piece bikini.
Her four leading men went topless and wore board shorts.
Since she has been going to the gym regularly, does this mean that Barbie will wear two-piece bikinis again for This Time I'll Be Sweeter?
However, she exclaimed, "Si Ken!"
Barbie then teased her love team partner whom she hinted will be showing his abs.
She said with a laugh, "Ewan ko sa kanya, bahala siya doon. Nasestress na nga siya, e!"
Yesterday, July 24, Ken and Barbie already had the look test and story conference for their film.
Ken posted some photos of their look test on his Twitter account.
Kim Rodriguez, Hiro Peralta, and Akihiro Blanco were also seen at the story conference.
During the Sunday PINASaya interview, Barbie also divulged that shooting for the movie might commence next week.
No showing date has been announced yet for their upcoming film.
