Director Perci Intalan admires Janella Salvador for the professionalism she's showing on the set of My Fairy Tail Love Story.
The team recently shot underwater scenes in Anilao, Batangas.
According to Direk Perci, their shooting days took almost the whole day most of the time, but he never saw the 19-year-old actress complain.
Wala siyang takot.”
A reporter asked Direk Perci, “Hindi siya umaangal?”
He quickly answered, “Alam mo, promise hindi.
“May swimmers kaming kasama and may boogie board.
“The whole time nandoon lang siya lulutang-lutang.
He further stressed, “Bilib ako sa commitment niya.
WHY ELNELLA? During the interview, the movie director also explained why they got Janella and her constant onscreen partner for My Fairy Tail Love Story.
He admitted that at first their team was hesistant to get the two Kapamilya stars.
Then, noong nakita ko na sila together, may chemistry kahit off screen.
Janella and Elmo, who are called by their fans as ElNella, was also perfect for the movie's theme which is not just about being “pa-tweetums.”
He said, “Ito madadala ko na sa, hindi naman mature, mas marami nang levels at dynamics ng character nila.
“Marami tayong malalaro kasi even physicality, iba na, e.”
STILL GOING FOR MMFF? My Fairy Tail Love Story is one the movies submitted for this year's Metro Manila Film Festival.
Unfortunately, it was not included in the first four official films announced last June, which were selected based on scripts submitted.
My Fairy Tail Love Story still has a chance to be included in the last four official entries that will be selected based on finished films.
Direk Perci said he told his team not to be discouraged by the initial announcement.
He related, “I met with them, in-explain ko kasi nag-meet kami after the announcement.
“Sabi ko, 'As a script, hindi tayo pumasok.
“'Ngayon, huwag nating isipin na there's something wrong with our script. Kasi, maganda ang script natin.
“'Tinanggap natin itong project na 'to, we all believed in it. Let's believe in it still.'
“Sabi ko, 'Gawin natin ang pelikula natin. Tapusin natin nang maayos as best we could.'”
Direk Perci also noted that if they still did not make the final cut, the movie can still be shown outside the film festival.
“Hindi 'yan end all and be all,” he said.
“Kasi, kung maganda yung pelikula mo, pwede namang ipalabas outside of the film fest.
“Kailangan, we just look at it as if we're making a good film.”
For his part, Direk Perci is doing his best this romantic-comedy movie worth watching.
“There's nothing more I can do but pagandahin ang pelikula,” he ended.
