Gerald Anderson, Ryza Cenon, JC Santos, and Bela Padilla were some of the stars who graced the opening ceremony of Pista ng Pelikulang Pilipino 2017.

MUCH EFFORT.

“So, I think the positivity and the openness of everyone is pushing us even…work hard talaga.”

“So, sabi ko, kung magtutulungan po tayo and we give the floor to our films to strive and shine, I think it’s gonna translate not just to the films but to the moviegoers, mag-i-expand.

This is how the FDCP describes the inaugural edition of Pista ng Pelikulang Pilipino.

This 2017 marks the 100th anniversary of Philippine Cinema.

The centennial celebration commemorates the legacy of Don Jose Nepomuceno who started the motion picture industry in the Philippines in 1917.

The week-long celebration of PPP will culminate with a fiesta-themed event featuring the festivals of Luzon and a concert jam with OPM artists. During this thanksgiving party, the Audience and Critics Choice Awards will be given out to select entries.

On this day, National Youth Commission chairperson Aiza Seguerra revealed the 12 short films chosen for the Sine Kabataan Short Film Competition.

Out of 300 entries, these 12 finalists are being screened prior to their partner full-length film.

SINE KABATAAN. Here are the Sine Kabataan finalists:
