Three out of the four announced MMFF 2017 entries had changes in terms of casting and titles.

Several changes have been made in the 2017 Metro Manila Film Festival, particularly with the first four entries that were announced last June 2017.

Back then, the entries announced were: Ang Panday, The Revengers, Almost Is Not Enough, and Love Traps: #FamilyGoals.

In an Instagram post by MMFF Spokesperson Noel Ferrer, he listed down important matters that were discussed during the monthly meeting of the Executive Committee.

The MMFF Execom approved the proposed changes of the three announced entries:

1. The Vic Sotto-Dawn Zulueta starrer Love Traps #Family Goals has changed its title to Meant To Beh. Instead of Tony Reyes, the movie produced by OctoArts Films will now be directed by Chris Martinez.

2. The Revengers, topbilled by Vice Ganda, Pia Wurtzbach, and Daniel Padilla, has changed its title to Gandarah N' Guapito: The Revengers.

3. The announcement also confirms that Derek Ramsay replaced Jericho Rosales as leading man to Jennylyn Mercado in Almost Is Not Enough.

Last August 8, PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) previously reported that Derek is the new leading man of Jennylyn in this film directed by Dan Villegas.

Coco Martin's Ang Panday has not reported any change yet as of this writing.

Ferrer also announced the heads of the MMFF Marketing and Awards committees.

The other four entries, which will be chosen through the submission of finished films, will be announced on November 17.

The Parade of the Stars, which will be held on December 23, will be hosted by the City of Muntinlupa. Usually, it is the City of Manila that hosts the annual parade.

Also, the MMFF Awards night will be held on December 27. No venue has been announced yet for the awards night.

Here is Ferrer's post (published as it is):

The reason why Jericho Rosales had to leave the production was also revealed.

The caption indicated: "Nami-miss niyo na ba ang samahang Tere at Julian?

"Because of Jericho’s scheduled shoot sa US, magbabalik-tambalan sina @mercadojenny at @ramsayderek07 bilang sina Gabby at Gab sa Almost Is Not Enough! Excited na silang bumalik sa big screen! See you soon mga bes!"
