Pia Wurtzbach, Daniel Padilla, and Vice Ganda donned superhero costumes for the first teaser of their 2017 Metro Manila Film Festival entry titled The Revenger Squad.
In the 16-second teaser, their costumes were not shown in full but the colors of their costumes could be clearly seen.
Daniel's superhero outfit had the colors black and yellow—somewhat inspired by his favorite superhero Batman.
Meanwhile, Pia bared her tummy when she wore a revealing two-piece golden costume.
The new ABS-CBN talent was seen posing a la Darna when she held up her two fists as if ready to engage in battle.
Vice Ganda's costume had a mix of blue and pink colors, with the letter "G" written on his weapon.
The comedian matched his superhero outfit with pink hair.
In an interview with ABS-CBN News during the publicity shoot for the 2017 MMFF entry, Pia said that she enjoyed doing action stunts for the film.
The beauty queen said, "Nagsimula na yung action scenes, fight scenes, mga stunts and mga harness.
"Trabaho siya so sineseryoso ko siya pero masaya pumasok every time kailangan ako sa set. Masaya yung mga ginagawa namin at masaya ka-eksena sila Vice at Daniel."
The Miss Universe 2015 titlist revealed that she even had aerial stunts for this fantasy-action film.
"Nakapag-training naman ako bago kami magsimula so nakapag-prepare naman ako.
"Pero siyempre, kapag actual na at naka-costume ka na, tapos kailangan mo na lumipad, medyo may kaunting adjustment. Iba pala yung feeling."
The Revenger Squad serves as Pia's comeback movie after taking a hiatus in show business to enter the world of beauty pageants.
This is also her first time to portray a major role in a movie project.
Her previous movie appearances include Kung Ako Na Lang Sana (2003), All My Life (2004), and All About Love (2006).
In the same interview, the beauty queen-turned-ASAP host revealed that there are plans for her to star in a romantic comedy movie in the future.
"Napag-uusapan pa lang namin ngayon but hindi pa finalized yung story. Parang rom-com yata."
Directed by Bb. Joyce Bernal, The Revenger Squad is the first MMFF 2017 entry to release a teaser.
The other entries of the film festival are: Meant To Beh (starring Dawn Zulueta and Vic Sotto) and Ang Panday (starring Coco Martin and Jake Cuenca). The entry formerly known as Almost Is Not Enough (starring Jennylyn Mercado and Derek Ramsay) is now titled All Of You.
The remaining four entries of MMFF 2017 will be revealed on November 17.
