The first teaser of Ang Panday shows Coco Martin forging a sword. In this MMFF 2017 entry, he plays Flavio Batungbakal III, the grandson of the original Panday.

The teaser of Coco Martin's 2017 Metro Manila Film Festival entry Ang Panday has already been released.

The short teaser showed Coco's character Flavio Batungbakal III forging a sword.

The ABS-CBN actor, who uses his real name Rodel Nacianceno in the credits, serves as the director of this MMFF 2017 entry.

According to the website of Coco Martin's film outfit CCM Film Productions, Coco's Flavio character is a tough gang leader who is born in Tondo.

Despite his tough guy exterior, he shows his soft side to his grandmother, played by Susan Roces.

The new incarnation of Ang Panday did not forget its roots by citing the original blacksmith Fernando Poe Jr.

Coco's character is the grandson of the original Panday.

Flavio makes it his mission to save humanity from the evil Lizardo (Jake Cuenca), as his bloodline has the lone capability to destroy the villain.

On his Instagram accounts, Coco shared some behind-the-scenes photos while shooting his fantasy-action movie.

One photo showed him fixing a tire, while another photo showed him riding a motorcycle.

In another Instagram post, Coco expressed his appreciation for two of his co-stars: Jhong Hilario and former Senator Lito Lapid, whom he calls Tito Sen.

Aside from Ang Panday, they are also part of Coco's primetime series FPJ's Ang Probinsyano.

Coco wrote, "Maraming maraming salamat Tito. Sen at Kuya Jhong hinding hindi ko po makakalimutan ang suporta na binigay nyo sakin sa Panday kahit wala tayong tulog galing sa Probinsyano at napakahirap ng shooting natin ngayon araw grabe binigay nyo na pagmamahal sakin sana ako naman ang makabawi sa inyo balang araw!!!"

Meanwhile, Ang Panday's official Instagram account also created a meme showing Flavio's gang.

The gang includes Coco's brother Ronwaldo Martin, comedian Jeffrey Tam, and Hashtags member McCoy de Leon.
