Alice Dixson plays the role of matchmaker in The Ghost Bride. In real life, she admits meeting her current love through a matchmaker: "You cannot meet decent people just by going to a club or something. You really meet somebody through a relative, a relative's friend, di ba?"

What is Kim like?  What is her stage presence? Anong mga tsismis sa kanya, ganyan?

“I found out na magaling siyang artista and, you know, she’s very popular hindi lang sa Chinese community kundi pati na sa mga kabagets-an natin.

“When I met her talaga lang na medyo… I got a little thrown off kasi her high pitch, the way she talks is very funny, 'no!

“Pero pag umaarte siya, wala yun… but if you really see her talk, she’s very sweet, very makuwento, and in a way she’s very funny, very bubbly.”

Nagisip muna ang nangingiting si Alice at saka sumagot, “Did she ever ask for advice?

"Nagkuwento siya, konting kuwento about that, about her family.

“About her mom, that was the time na parang anniversary for her mom and then birthday niya.

“And then yung mga travel, when she went abroad for the shooting of the movie she was making, kuwento.

“I think if I ask her about anything ikukuwento naman niya… bakit, kailangan ba niya ng advice? Hahahaha!

“If you guys write about it, any time she needs advice, if she’s listening, any time she needs advice she can come to me.”

Sambit niya, “Yes, I always trying to match my single friends together.”

Pag-amin pa niya, “Kahit naman ako, na-match din ako, e, so parang ipi-payback ko naman yun sa iba, pay it forward ko naman din.

“You really meet somebody through a relative, a relative’s friend, di ba?”

Pagkumpirma pa niya, “That’s in the mix already, in the next nine, ten days ia-announce na 'yan.”

“I can tell you the working title, it’s called Nostalgia,  primetime, epic.  Very Romeo and Juliet.”

Nakapanayam ng PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) si Alice sa solo blog presscon niya para sa The Ghost Bride noong Linggo, October 29, sa Wangfu restaurant, Ayala Mall Vertis North, Quezon City.

LEARNING MANDARIN.

“We actually have a back story for her, pero hindi pa namin puwedeng ikuwento ngayon kasi gusto naming magkaroon ng part two based on Angie Lau.

“I don’t wanna give away kung sino si Angie Lau, aside from the matchmaker, but her role is very crucial in the unfolding of who is the ghost sa The Ghost Bride.

“How did she come about?  All I know, Direk Chito, Star Cinema sent me the story concept.

“Automatically parang eighty percent when they said Chito Roño, okay na ‘yan, eighty percent na.

“And then when I read the concept, I said one hundred percent na ‘to… more so, I was really really very excited about it because I had to speak my lines in Mandarin.

“I had to learn, I had to watch a lot of Chinese movies para matuto ako, yung accent ng Mandarin.

“Marami pala ‘yan, there’s Fookien, Cantonese, there are lots of different accents.

“May Singaporean, may Chinese, so parang I had to get it right.

“Kasi yung mga Filipino-Chinese mabubuking nila if you don’t do it correctly, so pinag-aralan ko yun.”

Aniya, “Nagulat ako, meron palang ganon… sa kaka-research din, well, we all know that matchmaking is very popular in China, right?

“But then matchmaking with the dead is still happening up to now.  This is based on true events.

“Ibig sabihin, pag may isang lalakeng namatay sa China at wala pa siyang asawa, hinahanapan ng pamilya ng mapapangasawa.

“So that his soul will not keep wandering in the netherworld, kung anuman yung tawag nun sa life after.

“Yung babae does the duties of a wife, she prays for him on certain days, nagla-light siya ng incense.

“Yung picture nila nandun so that he is remembered and he is not wandering.”
