From being a musical play, the love story Changing Partners now has a movie version.
Top-billed by Agot Isidro, Jojit Lorenzo, Anna Luna, and Sandino Martin, this musical film is an entry in the 2017 Cinema One Originals film festival.
Changing Partners, which is based on a musical by Vincent A. De Jesus, explores the bittersweet reality of relationships. It is told in perspectives of various genders through same-sex relationships and May-December affairs.
Agot and Jojit both play the roles of Alex, while Anna and Sandino portray the role of Cris.
While interchanging roles and partners, the four cast members shot sensual scenes for this movie directed by Dan Villegas.
At one point, Agot and Anna will portray a lesbian couple and in another instance, Jojit and Sandino will depict a gay couple.
The 13th Cinema One Originals runs from November 13-21 at Trinoma, Glorietta, Gateway, UP Cine Adarna, Cinema 76 and Cinematheque Kalaw with an extended run from November 22-28 at Rockwell Power Plant Mall.

PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) spoke to the three lead stars of Changing Partners during the recent press conference of Cinema One Originals 2017.
Agot, Anna, and Sandino opened up about doing their sensual scenes for this musical film.
Sandino revealed, "Kami ni Agot, meron kami ni Miss A na love scene, meron kami ni Jojit na pahipu-hipuan, ganyan.
"Hindi pa extreme pero alam mo yun, nakaka-spark ng imagination."
According to Sandino, he did not have any qualms about shooting bed scenes since he already did frontal nudity in his 2014 film Esprit de Corps.
"Nag bed scene naman na ako, e. Kung makikita mo yung ginawa kong pelikula noong 2014, I bared it all.
"I really don't care, parang ang comfortable with my body, I'm comfortable doing scenes with another person.
"Yung concept dito, I just really want to explore."

ANNA AND AGOT. Anna, who recently won best lead actress at the Five Continents Film Festival in Venezuela for the movie Maestra, did a love scene for the first time for the big screen.
She quipped, "Hmmm! Magulat ka!
"May pa-necking kami ni Ate Agot. May pa-necking lang pero ganun lang. Ini-imagine ko, siguro nasa character lang kami, ayun."
In a separate interview, Agot revealed that it was actually the first time she accepted a lesbian role.
She said about Anna, "Okay naman si Anna kasi nga we did it sa play so kung ano man yung mga damdamin, emotions that we needed to go through, nagawa na namin."
However, Agot admitted that she had to make certain arrangements with Direk Dan in terms of the sensual scenes she did with Anna and Sandino.
The actress asked for some changes even though she already portrayed the character live on stage.
She explained with a smile, "Siyempre iba yung physicality dito sa film, you have to show talaga na may nangyayari dun sa dalawa.
"So medyo may mga haggling kami nila Direk Dan diyan. Meron kaming haggling, compromise na eventually, okay naman, pumayag si Direk Dan."
More than the sensual scenes, Changing Partners is a bittersweet exploration of a relationship coming apart as the huge age gap between two lovers starts to take its toll.
The three lead actors are glad to see that their Virgin Labfest play will finally be seen by a wider audience.
Sandino elaborated, "Masaya kasi noong ginagawa namin ito as a little play, now na magiging full-blown film na siya, hindi naman namin in-e-expect na magiging pelikula siya, e.
"It's just a baby project, we were painting the set, we were providing our own costume and now someone produced it as a film so its really surreal.'
Anna added, "Dati anim lang kami, e. Apat na actors, isang director, isang stage manager!"
Agot believes many people can relate to the story of Changing Partners.
"Basta panuorin niyo kasi it's really... it's not just about sensual thing but it's really about emotions.
"It's about a love story that had high hopes and then gone wrong."
