The last four official entries to complete the Magic 8 of  MMFF 2017 are Siargao, Haunted Forest, Deadma Walking, and Ang Larawan

The highly-anticipated Magic 8 for the 43rd Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) is finally complete.

In no particular order, these are Siargao, Haunted Forest, Deadma Walking, and Ang Larawan.

This was announced during a press conference with the MMFF 2017 Executive Committee (Execom) members held today, November 17, at Club Filipino Greenhills.

The first four official entries, which were script submissions, were announced by MMFF officials last June 30.

These are Gandarrapiddo: The Revenger Squad, Ang Panday, Meant To Be, and All of You.

Below are the trailers for the four chosen finished films: 

Siargao (romance-drama)

Producer and director: Paul Soriano — from TEN17p Productions

Cast: Jericho Rosales, Erich Gonzales, and Jasmine Curtis Smith

Deadma Walking (comedy)

Director: Julius Ruslin Alfonso — from T-Rex Entertainment

Cast: Joross Gamboa, Edgar Allan Guzman, Dimples Romana, Candy Pangilinan, Bobby Andrews, Ricci Chan, Patricia Ismael, Nico Antonio, and Jojit Lorenzo


Haunted Forest (horror)

Director: Ian Loreños — from Regal Entertainment

Cast: Jane Oineza, Jameson Blake, Jon Lucas, Maris Racal, and Jerald Napoles


Ang Larawan (musical)

Director: Loy Arcenas — from Culturtain Musicat Productions

Cast: Rachel Alejandro, Joanna Ampil, and Paulo Avelino, with Nonie Buencamino, Celeste Legaspi, Zsa Zsa Padilla, Ogie Alcasid, Menchu Lauchengco Yulo, Sandino Martin, Cris Villonco, and Aicelle Santos

This year's MMFF Selection Committee is headed by National Artist Bienvenido Lumbera, with members Atty. Alu Dorotan, Alanna Yulde (Cinema 2000), Bing Advincula (Robinsons Movieworld), award-winning directors Maryo J. de los Reyes and Mel Chionglo, Gordon Ting (Vista Cinema), award-winning writer Roy Iglesias, MTRCB Representative Consoliza Laguardia, and producer Jessie Ejercito.
