After five years with TV5, Derek Ramsay returns to ABS-CBN.
He was officially welcomed back while doing a movie with Bea Alonzo and Paulo Avelino under Star Cinema.
The actor had a controversial transfer to TV5 in 2012. He described his decision back then as one of the "toughest things" he had to do in his life.
Derek said in an exclusive interview with PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) in 2012 that he agreed to do a show in TV5 because "it’s designed with my personality, my interest—which I’m always looking forward to in Channel 2.
"Unfortunately, wala, no opportunity was given.
“Ang tagal ko na ring wala sa TV, sa Channel 2.
"So, we’ve decided na the best option here for now is for me to not sign [a contract]."
Earlier today, November 17, it was revealed that Derek already met with key officials of the Kapamilya Network to settle their past issues.
Here is the statement sent by Integrated Corporate Communications Head Kane Errol Choa:
"ABS-CBN welcomes back Derek Ramsay who will soon work with Bea Alonzo and Paulo Avelino in the film 'Kasal' under Star Cinema. ABS-CBN’s top management and Derek have met recently and resolved the issues arising from his transfer to another network five years ago."
This Star Cinema film is directed by Ruel S. Bayani.
Direk Ruel said during the story conference that the movie is about three complex characters:
"One who wants to stop it, one wants to proceed, and one woman who has to choose which wedding to go to and what decision to make."
