Kim Chiu says doing a movie is never easy, "Parang every film is always hard, you really always have to study your character, everything. Walang easy, it's always a learning process."

After being paired with Gerald Anderson in Ikaw Lang ang Iibigin, Kim Chiu will have a new leading man for her next movie project with Star Cinema.

The 27-year-old actress was laughing when she said it's about time to be paired with her fellow Kapamilya star, “Parang after Xian [Lim], Coco [Martin], Gerald, I think Ryan Bang.”

Seriously though, Kim said that Ryan fits his role in the movie, which will be directed by Tony Y. Reyes.

“Itong movie na 'to ay bagay din kay Ryan Bang.

“Since uso naman ang Korean ngayon, why not?

“Si Ryan is pure Korean and Pinoy by heart, so bakit hindi natin i-try si Oppa Ryan.”

Kim Chiu talked to PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) and other reporters during the press conference prepared by iFlix at Rockstar KTV Bar at SM Aura, Taguig City last February 3.

Her movie The Ghost Bride is Star Cinema's third exclusive feature film on iFlix.

HORROR-COMEDY MOVIE.
Doing a horror movie is not something new for Kim since she already did The Healing (2012) and The Ghost Bride (2017).

However, she is excited for this project since it has elements of comedy.

“This is something different. Of course, the genre is something different,” Kim said.

Asked if there will be some fantasy elements in the movie, she jokingly answered, “Walang fantasy. Mukha lang ni Ryan ang fantasy.”

Although technically this is her third horror movie, Kim is hesitant to say that it has become easier for her as an actress.

“It's always a different role, different story kasi,” she said.

“So, you cannot say that kapag gagawa ka ng horror after a horror movie, madali na siya.

“It's always a learning process, a study process when you're doing it.

“Not naman just horror film, parang every film is always hard, you really always have to study your character, everything.

“Walang easy, it's always a learning process.”

Does Kim think that she is on her way to becoming the next "Queen of Horror Movies"?

“Ate Kris naman will always be the Queen of Horror Movies,” answered Kim.

Kris Aquino was given this title by ABS-CBN after doing blockbuster horror movies such as Feng Shui (2002), Sukob (2006), Dalaw (2010), and Segunda Mano (2012)

Kim continued, “Ako naman, I've just been given this chance, this opportunity, so might as well grab the opportunity Star Cinema is giving me.

“Ngayon binali nila, nilagyan nila ng comedy yung horror na gagawin ko ngayon.

“I think it's not replacing Ate Kris. Ate Kris is the super queen of all the horror movies.

“Siyempre, wala pa ring makakalimot sa Feng Shui.

“She is the queen, kami lang yung mga followers niya.”

Kim looks forward to the lessons she will leanr while doing this movie.

“Yun talaga ang important when I listen to a pitch in a movie.

“It's important for me to know what the movie is about, ano ang matututunan ko sa movie na 'yan, what am I gonna get na pwede kong i-share sa viewers ko,” she concluded.
