Piolo Pascual escorted Shaina Magdayao at the red carpet of the 68th Berlin International Film Festival to represent their movie Panahon ng Halimaw. This Lav Diaz film is an official entry to the main competition of the A-list film festival.

ABS-CBN actors Piolo Pascual and Shaina Magdayao are currently in Berlin, Germany for the 68th Berlin International Film Festival.

They are representing the Filipino rock opera film Panahon ng Halimaw (Season of the Devil), helmed by award-winning director Lav Diaz.

Panahon ng Halimaw depicts a love story in a remote village in the Philippines during the Martial Law.

This Pinoy rock musical is an official entry to the main competition of the Berlinale.

Cast members Pinky Amador, Bituin Escalante, and Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP) chairman Liza Dino also attended the red-carpet event held at the Berlinale Palast.

Liza posted some photos of the movie's cast members along with the other directors who are participating in the Berlinale Talents and Co-Production Market.

Aside from Panahon ng Halimaw, there are other several films and Pinoy talents representing the Philippines in other categories.

Keith Deligro's Babylon is competing at Berlinale shorts while Manila Scream Expanded by Roxlee is featured at the Forum Expanded Section.

Babylon is a 20-minute short film about two young girls who travel through time to assassinate a small town dictator to revise history but ended up with a weird mixed-up adventure with a talking chicken, a videoke machine from the future, a set of violent triplets and prank calls from the '90s, only at Barangay Babylonia.

Manila Scream Expanded combines three recent short films by Philippine underground filmmaker Roxlee, Manila Scream, Yours Trolley, and Slicing Art. The film and its maker and protagonist take us on an idiosyncratic journey through the streets of Manila.

Meanwhile, four participants are at Berlinale Talents. They are: Pam Reyes, Anthony Falcon, McRonald Nacario, and Leeroy Lee.

Bradley Liew and Bianca Balbuena's Motel Acacia is featured at the Co-Production Market.

FDCP hosted the Philippine Night in Berlin last February 21.

In 2016, Piolo and Direk Lav also attended Berlinale for the film Hele Sa Hiwagang Hapis, which won the Silver Bear Alfred Bauer prize.

The 68th Berlin International Film Festival runs until February 25, 2018.
