Bea Alonzo was all praises to one of her leading men Derek Ramsay during the press conference of their upcoming movie Kasal held on Tuesday, May 8.
The 30-year-old actress admitted that she missed seeing Derek in Star Cinema movies.
“It feels good na makatrabaho ulit si Derek kasi, ewan ko, mayroon kasing ibang chemistry rin.
“Ako, yun ang napi-feel ko, ha, at least, when we do a scene together. Parang napi-feel ko na ang dali, ang dali ng lahat, nagkakaintindihan kami.
“Natutuwa ako, kapag napapanood ko sa monitor kapag preview, kasi na-miss ko si Derek sa mga Star Cinema movie.”
Bea previously worked with Derek in the movie And I Love You So in 2009.
Prior to his transfer in TV5, Derek was supposed to work with her again in the movie The Mistress, which was then given to Bea constant onscreen partner John Lloyd Cruz.
In 2015, although he remained a contract star of TV5, Derek was able to do a movie again with Star Cinema via Ex with Benefits.
It was followed by a cameo role in All You Need is Pag-ibig in the same year.
Bea observed, “Lagi kong sinasabi ito sa mga past interviews ko na parang si Derek is born to be a leading man.
“Kasi, chiseled yung jawline, ang gwapo, oozing with sex appeal, and he's a good actor.
“Parang may mga tao talagang ganun, born to be an actor, to be a leading man.”
BIG FAN OF BEA. Likewise, Derek has always admired Bea as a leading lady.
“I've always said this, Bea knows this, I just said it an hour ago. I've always been a big fan of Bea,” he said.
“For me, there's so many talented leading ladies, but I'm not scared to say that Bea is the number one leading lady out there.”
He stressed that Bea is one of the reasons he accepted the movie offer from Star Cinema.
“A big part why I chose to accept this film is because I want to work with Bea again.
“Of course, also to my director [Ruel Bayani], who is a big part of my success in film with No Other Woman.
“Nagsama yung dalawa.”
He also mentioned, “And I know na may utang ako kay Bea kasi medyo tinakbuhan ko siya last time from a project na we were doing before.”
Derek admitted that Bea inspires him to do better as an actor.
“But I am not afraid to say that I’m a big fan of Bea, how she handles herself on- and off-cam.
“I'm a very big fan. She’s a smart girl.
“You see it when she performs, you see it when she talks to you behind the camera, and how she just conducts herself.
“Just everything about her I’m a fan. She motivates me to better myself in this craft.”
