Jameson Blake admitted that at first, he thought that it would be hard to build chemistry with Janella Salvador.
Janella is Jameson's leading lady in the movie So Connected, which also marks the first time they are working with each other for a project.
The Hashtags member later realized that their chemistry came out naturally as they filmed their scenes.
He said, "Before the shoot, I thought na paano ito, I just met Janella and [yung] chemistry namin, we have to build it up and everything.
"Pero noong nasa set kami, parang we didn't really have to work for it.
"Parang it's just natural, that's what I felt na parang everything was just flowing, the scenes that we had together, it was just right."
What were the efforts they did to make their tandem effective?
"Wala, we just talk sa set and kapag nasa scene na, it's where I noticed na hindi naman malaking effort yung kailangan para i-build yung chemistry namin."
For her part, Janella said that she and Jameson only went through script reading—the only workshop they did for this movie.
"Hindi super grabe yung preparation namin for the roles.
"Pero sobrang real noong movie, so we really just got into the characters as soon as we were on the set.
"Ayun, hindi naman mahirap kasi parang yung mga characters talaga, may mga personalities na mapi-feel mo talaga sa totoong buhay so inimbibe na lang namin yung characters namin."
Janella and Jameson were interviewed by PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) and other entertainment bloggers during the digital media conference of So Connected.
In the movie, Jameson plays Karter, a video editor who lost his phone.
Janella, on the other hand, is Trisha, a self-supporting woman who buys the phone that Karter lost.
Karter gets a glimpse of Trisha's life, after her photos and videos were automatically uploaded in an app called Storebox, and later finds himself falling for the stranger.
FIRST IMPRESSIONS. According to Janella, she had fun working with Jameson.
She told bloggers, "Kahit it's our first time to work with each other, wala naman kaming naramdaman na awkwardness, super light lang talaga, super fun lang.
"Yung aura ni Jameson, super light lang."
Working together in this project also allowed Janella and Jameson to break the first impressions they had about each other.
"But when I started to talk to her, she was easy to talk to and yun yung napansin ko sa kanya, fun to be with."
KISSING SCENE. Ever since Janella started her career in showbiz, she has not done any kissing scene with her former leading man Marlo Mortel.
During the last part of her movie with Elmo Magalona, which was My Fairy Tail Love Story, their silhouettes were shown and they appeared to kiss before the frame closed.
There is a scene in So Connected trailer wherein Karter leaned into Trisha's face and he looked like he was about to kiss her.
Does this scene mean that Janella will have a kissing scene with Jameson in this movie?
With a smile, the 20-year-old actress only answered, "We will see when you watch the movie!"
So Connected, which is now being screened in cinemas, is graded B by the Cinema Evaluation Board.
Produced by Regal Films, the movie also features Krystal Brimmer, VJ Mendoza, Cherise Castro and Paulo Angeles, and directed by Jason Paul Laxamana.
