Kasal, the drama film starring Bea Alonzo, Derek Ramsay, and Paulo Avelino, has grossed P100 million in the Philippine box office.
According to Star Cinema, the movie was able to earn this amount in a span of 13 days. Directed by Ruel Bayani, Kasal opened in cinemas last May 16.
The romance film was released as part of Star Cinema's 25th anniversary celebration.
Kasal tells the story of public school teacher Lia Marquez (Bea) who is about to marry eligible bachelor Philip Cordero (Paulo).
Her ex-boyfriend Wado dela Costa (Derek) re-enters her life and tries to expose Philip’s secret. Wado’s arrival rekindles his romance with Lia, which makes her doubt her feelings for Philip.
As the wedding day approaches, Lia becomes unsure if she is choosing the right man to marry – torn between the man from her past and the man she's about to build a future with.
During a recent bloggers' conference, Bea was asked to describe her dream wedding.
She revealed, "Definitely, I will have a very, very simple wedding, very intimate. I see myself as a classic bride and I will have a classic gown.
"Siguro 60 to 100 [guests] para mura lang!" she said with a laugh.
She added: "Yung mga close ko lang talaga. Mahirap rin ang malaking wedding. Ako kasi, personally, hindi ako social butterfly. In my wedding, gusto ko yung mga close ko lang na tao na hindi ko kailangan i-entertain and they will also have a good time without me going over there."
