Kapuso comedienne Divine Aucina's movie tapped as finalist in international filmfest

Kapuso comedienne Divine Aucina feels excited that her old movie, Divine XY, has been selected as one of the finalists for the 25th Filipino International Cine Festival in San Francisco, California: "The script and direction is well versed. It's the kind of film that will leave you thinking—sasama ka ba sa journey at process ng character?"

Kilala rin ang naturang festival bilang Filipino Arts & Cinema International, or FACINE, na isang “non-profit organization dedicated to empowering emerging artists and diverse audiences to create films that speak about Filipino communities globally, by promoting cinema as a social document of Filipino culture and heritage, and as medium of artistic expression.”

A California at 28th Gawad Alternatibo (CCP Independent Film and Video Competition noon namang 2017.

OLD PROJECT.

Mga three years ago na.

“Sinulat ito ni Ivy Baldoza and directed by Ruelo Zendo.

“The script and direction is well versed.

“It's the kind of film that will leave you thinking—sasama ka ba sa journey at process ng character?

Ayon sa website ng Los Angeles Asian Pacific Film Festival, ang Divine XY ay kuwento ni Divine “who finally gets her dream job, but hits a snag when it comes to her paperwork. She discovers that people don’t often see her the same way.”

Ang director na si Ruelo Zendo (Ruello Lozendo) “was born, raised, and is based in Quezon City, Philippines. An alumnus of the Mowelfund Film Institute, Ruelo’s films were mostly grant recipients from art and media institutions. He concluded his artist residency at Casa San Miguel (Philippines) in 2013. Ruelo previously worked as a director for notable television documentaries. He is currently working as freelance director.”

RARE PRIVILEGE.

Pagmamalaki niya, “Masayang makipagtrabaho with a creative director like Direk Ruelo Zuendo.

“He was able to guide me through the process, dahil matagal na rin itong na-shoot at medyo bata pa ako noon.

“Kung mabibigyan ng chance to support our film, it’s a big YES!

“At itong pagkapili as finalist for FACINE is such an honor at nakaka-overwhelm.

FINDING HER SOUL MATE.

Lahad niya, “We are all blessed to have the chance na magpatuloy at lumawak pa ang show.

Saad niya, “I am praying for one.

“Ready na ready po ako for new projects and new characters na gagampanan ko.”
