Despite leaving ABS-CBN, actor John Estrada will still be seen in a Star Cinema movie.
Star Cinema is one of the four movie production brands under ABS-CBN Films, the movie arm of the Kapamilya network.
John is set to do a guest role in the upcoming movie I Love You, Hater, starring Kris Aquino, Julia Barretto, and Joshua Garcia.
The 45-year-old actor posted on Instagram a photo with the JoshLia love team and a member of the production team while shooting for the movie, which will open in July 11 in cinemas.
John wrote, "Guested in this soon to be blockbuster movie "I love you Hater" with these two lovebirds @garciajoshuae and @juliabarretto ... with the very masipag panky.... Directed by Miss Gisele Andres....i missed @krisaquino on the set... #july11na#starcinema"
John and Joshua worked together in the defunct Kapamilya series The Good Son.
However, in the middle of the series, John's character got killed off.
Around the time of his departure from the show, John allegedly had a confrontation with one of the teleserye's cast members, Mylene Dizon.
Days after his last appearance in The Good Son, the actor dropped hints on Instagram that he is starting a new project.
It was later confirmed to PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) that John would be signing a program contract with the Kapuso Network.
On May 2, John formally signed an exclusive TV contract with GMA-7, after being with ABS-CBN for more than 20 years.
Aside from I Love You, Hater, John is also busy preparing for his first Kapuso series, Victor Magtanggol, starring Alden Richards.
