SYNOPSIS: Dakip lives with his parents Day and Ric inside Camp Delgado, a makeshift prison inside a military camp for both rebels and criminals. Given their circumstances, Day does her best to shelter the child from the harsh realities of their life. She uses storytelling about an enchantress named Liway, as well as songs and imagination, to help ensure that her boy is free from trauma. At the tail end of the Martial Law, Day’s own dark past catches up on her andthe lives of the detainees become increasingly difficult.

She is confronted with the cruel possibility that the best interest of her child means never seeing her again. This is based on a true story.

The director summed up the story by saying: "Ang Liway po ay true story ng isang nanay na nagpapalaki sa isang batang sa kulungan during the last month and the last few weeks of the Martial Law. As we know, ‘pag nage-end ang isang dictatorship, it’s always prisoners who are at risk.

"At this point in a difficult situation, she’s trying to make sure her child doesn’t get traumatized. It’s a film full of hope, it’s a film full of joy."

Direk Kip then shocked everyone when he declared: "And it is my life story."

She battles to drive them away from her house, and in her mind, and starts re-living her past – her marriage, her childhood, and everything else in between. In the end, she is forced to make a decision between staying sane or letting her mind go.

"Si Mamang is an old woman struggling against the dementia and senility of old age para makasama niya yung kanyang only son na si Ferdie," revealed a representative of Mamang. 6. ML

Writer-Director: Benedicto Mique Jr.

He meets Colonel, an old recluse living alone in a ramshackle house in Carlo’s neighborhood. With his best friend Jaze and girlfriend Pats, Carlo visits the old man to interview him about what truly happened during the Marcos regime - a visit that may put the lives of the three teenagers in danger. To truly learn about the horrors of Martial Law, do teenagers today have to pay the ultimate price?

Tony Labrusca said he didn't mind getting roughed up in the torture scenes that they shot for ML. "There was times na, of course, like Tito Eddie did have to make physical contact but it was something na I was completely okay with. Kasi sometimes kasi yung physical contact mas mararamdaman mo yung eksena, e. So sa mga torture scenes, ‘pag hinihila talaga yung buhok mo or something, it’s something I’m okay with."

It’s a cleansing, cleansing siya na process.

9. SCHOOL SERVICE

Director: Louie Ignacio
Cast: Ai-Ai delas Alas, Joel Lamangan, Celine Juan, Therese Malvar, Felixia Dizon, Joe Gruta, Kenken Nuyad, Kevin Sagra

Maya finds herself hours and hours away from home. She becomes the latest victim of the “school service.” Maya eventually becomes a beggar in Manila and becomes part of a small-time syndicate committing petty crime.

When PEP.ph asked Direk Afi if half of the film shows sex scenes, he answered: "More than [50%]. I think it's more than.

"After every time niyang pumatay, kailangan magkaroon siya ng outlet. Kailangan niya ng outlet and that outlet is sex, to have sex with someone.

"I'm sure after nitong pelikula, hindi nila titingnan ang hubaran.

"All throughout the movie, either naka-undies lang sila or hubad sila. I can say 80-90% ang sex scenes."

However, he stressed that The Lookout is not pornographic.

That's not my intention. Kasi kung yun ang intention ko, I could have done a different movie. Porn na lang sana ang ginawa ko."
